born in memphis, tennessee, in the united states of america, she was born and raised there, while harboring a strong passion for the written word. this was something she would build on over time, building on her love of reading and writing, while also establishing her voice. also drawing inspiration from the environment around her, she would work to use her experience as material for her books.
Attending an all-girls preparatory school, she studied at Hutchinson School from kindergarten through twelfth grade. She later graduated from the University of Alabama in 1980, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication. this allowed him to give her material the foundation she required of her, as well as allowing him to develop her writing skills.
He was also a member of the kappa delta sound while he was there, another experience he would use later. Working in a number of different positions as well as being a full-time writer, she has kept herself busy over the years, bringing a wide range of different experiences. From working as a tour guide to speaking at various events, she is a very active and vocal member of her community.
still writing to this day, she has much more to come as she writes full time from home, while taking care of her family as well. With a whole host of different influences as an author, she has also become an extremely versatile novelist. there are many more titles ready to be released on the horizon, as her writing career goes from strength to strength for the foreseeable future.

writing career
publishing her first book, ‘whilstlin’ dixie in a nor’easter’, in 2009, lisa patton made her debut on the literary scene. set in the romance genre, it was an impressive introduction to a talented new author, something that won her a host of new fans very quickly. Establishing many of her themes and ideas as well, she also worked in building her profile as an exciting new talent to watch.
Her main and only series being that of her current “dixie” franchise, she was able to differentiate herself with a highly stylized and innovative take on the romance genre. with a total of over three books so far, he has gained quite a sizable following with these novels that continues to grow by the day. while it may be the only series of his so far without other books outside of it, this is expected to change over time.
Receiving critical acclaim for his work over the years, he has garnered a number of high quality reviews regarding his books. With critics and the general public alike praising his novels, he has already become a household name to many. Gaining success, she has managed to gain recognition from both her peers and her contemporaries, which has made her a highly sought after writer in the industry.

It was also Lisa Patton’s debut novel as an author and the first title in the ongoing “Dixie” series, setting it up at large. With a clear idea of what she wanted to achieve here, Patton manages to really use the formula of the romance genre, along with her sense of location, to make an all-out impact.

Giving fans more of what they want, it works by building on the initial premise, along with the narratives, as well as developing the characters themselves.
