Immediately after finding the body of a badly mutilated child, another child disappears. the story in this gradually unfolds into several possibly related crimes which in turn lead to very long and sleepless hours of darkness for law enforcement. the scene is very fantastic, while the potential character development and atmosphere are very outstanding. In this novel, MacBride is able to create highly engaging book characters, who have been embroidered in embedded dimensions. Forced to work alongside his ex-lover, this time Macbride is more determined to earn the trust and respect of his superiors and co-workers.
As an ideal crime novel, the plot of this novel revolves around the investigations surrounding the deaths of young children. Any story surrounding the death of children is usually hard to read, but in this particular novel, McBride was able to add some suspense to the stories. All in all, the story of this book is not only creepy, but also engaging, which is guaranteed to make any reader live with tongue in cheek. The descriptions portrayed in this book are not only crude but also very realistic in every respect, while Aberdeen’s involvement in this gruesome story will leave a huge dent in the city’s image.

As the second book in Logan McRae’s series, The Dying Light portrays Aberdeen as a slightly warmer neighborhood, which turns out to be more or less the only concern in this gritty but captivating thriller. With the ability to bring a tongue-in-cheek touch to some of the darker scenes, the author presents a fairly compelling story revolving around crime and violence that is certainly not for the faint of heart. Overall, the crime in this second book is not only realistic but also very violent, making it a favorite among crime novel readers.

When we meet Logan McRae once again in this book, he is in disgrace after being the officer in charge of a raid that resulted in the shooting of a police officer. so now logan mcrae is under investigation and is now working with a di steele who happens to be the officer in charge of the squad for failure and general incompetence. Is he going to escape the clutches of d.i. steele by being able to solve big cases? Only time will tell. The rate and number of crimes in this book is definitely high, so police officers are always engaged and have plenty of options when it comes to choosing crimes. While working under D.I Steele, Logan McRae is presented with two main cases.
First of all, there is a person who harasses prostitutes for a long period of time and eventually kills them. second, there is an arsonist who is shutting down buildings and then burning everyone inside the building. finally, the torso of a dog is found in a suitcase, very strange. By using the good old fashioned way of solving cases, Logan is able to crack case after case effectively. Although the writer tries to present a serene atmosphere throughout the book, there are some very scary scenes, especially the one involving a high-flying journalist who is apparently dating Logan McRae’s ex-girlfriend.
Logan is no new to controversy, once again he finds himself embroiled in another gruesome scene that nearly lands him indefinitely suspended from the force. Regardless of everything that happens in this book, anyone who has read the first book in this series will not miss the fact that Jackie Watson is conspicuously missing from this novel. His character is not developed further, which is a shame, as he was one of the most prominent and easily noticeable characters in the previous novel.

In addition to knowing how to write great stories, MacBride also knows how to create a great asset and in this particular scenario it’s Logan McRae. in his creation stuart macbride was able to create a main character, who is not only very smart but also very witty and vulnerable at the same time overall any great story must have a great character to be successful and logan mcrae is one of the main reasons why this series has been so successful.
