Lynette is undeniably talented, and even those who don’t typically enjoy Christian fiction enjoy Lynette’s work. She teams up with dead agent Brock Martin on the case, who quickly learns that she can take care of herself, though she questions the ranger’s motivations for sending her on the case. the pair are not welcome in the small town, and the locals make that abundantly clear with a car explosion, ransacked hotel rooms, near-drownings, and continual threats. Combine that with a hotel clerk with mental health issues, terrified terrified, the message is clearly for them to leave town immediately. Despite the warnings, they are determined to find out who is bringing drugs into the country and, more importantly, who is willing to murder people just so they can keep doing it.
