The book does a great job of illustrating what is really important and finding happiness in all the mundane things in life. The story is an interesting and intriguing, fast-paced story of family, sisters, careers, hidden family secrets, and betrayal. Readers find that they fall in love with each of the characters, especially Daisy.
“Sweet Expectations” is the second novel in the “Union Street Bakery” series, which was released in 2013. Running the family bakery and living in the store’s attic may not be the life Daisy dreamed of, but is beginning to understand what the content feels like. then he receives some rather unexpected news.
In just a moment, Daisy’s quiet life is thrown into chaos. she struggles to keep it all together, especially with renovations at the bakery spiraling out of control. A box of keepsakes and recipes found behind a wall in the bakery, gives Daisy something to hold on to. a mystery that echoes her own problems and gives her the opportunity to discover what it is that she really wants from her life.
It’s great to see the sisters work together to solve their problems, and not just wait for some rich guy to come along and help them out. each of these characters that taylor creates in this one are very relatable. From the beginning, readers were drawn in and their attention was held until the very last word. every page of the book was beautifully written with some compelling characters.
