Born January 19, Melissa Brayden grew up in San Antonio, Texas, and continues to live there, having returned after graduating from college. She grew up in an Air Force family and lived in England at the US Air Force Base for a time. In her late 30s, she is the youngest of three daughters, the middle daughter is six years older, and her oldest daughter is eight years older than her. Brayden is a writer of lesbian romance novels and currently has seven stand-alone books under her belt with an eighth book in the works. she earned her bachelor’s degree in speech communication and film production from baylor university. after ten years since she earned her bachelor’s degree, she went back to college and is currently working on her mfa (master of fine arts) in directing at texas state university. she currently works full time, being a theater director for the performing arts center of one of the largest high schools in texas. this is a job that she absolutely loves.
Being an avid reader, Melissa Brayden realized her love for creative writing a few years ago, which is why she began writing lesbian romance novels, The First Call, Waiting Backstage, and the second book called Heart Block. Although she hasn’t always been a writer, she has always loved telling stories in one medium or another, whether directing, acting, filming documentaries, or writing raps (as she does in songs). It wasn’t until 2009 that Ella Brayden began writing novels. when she writes romance novels, she usually doesn’t plan the books she’s writing at the time, but rather she writes verbatim, taking one day at a time. but as she gains more writing experience, with each book she writes, there is more planning involved in building the plot. she is an award-winning author. She won the Goldie Award twice, once for Outstanding Newcomer Author and the second time for Writing a Traditional Contemporary Romance Novel in 2012. In 2013, she again won the Goldies Award for Traditional Contemporary Romance Novel.

Although Brayden has not written a romance series, she has written several stand-alone novels. the two oldest books are waiting in the wings and the heart block. Waiting Backstage was released in September 2011. The main character named Jenna McGovern has spent her entire life preparing for a career on the stage. she has taken voice lessons, dance classes, and earned a degree from one of the most prestigious acting/musical theater programs in the country.
