5 Reasons Why Movies Are Better Than Books

It’s a war that never ends! On the one hand, there will always be a harry potter fan who will respect his books, and on the other hand, there will be a movie buff who will give the book nerd fair competition. the two will clash in any new book-to-film adaptation and blood will fly! but at the end of the day, movies (films) are always better than books (novels) due to the following factors:

Reasons Why Movies Are Better Than Books

1. time

tell me, who has time to read 600 pages of a harry potter book? I mean people don’t read anymore, and even if they do, reading trends have changed. they prefer to read a summary or they may be watching a video on the subject, but wouldn’t anyone be crazy enough to read a 600 page book just to find out what the attributes of the marauder’s map are? time is money these days, and after such hectic schedules, people barely have time to read.

2. environment friendly

yes, there are e-books to cover that part, but there are still plenty of book-crazy nerds out there who “love to collect books”. they go crazy as soon as a book is released. I mean, it’s better to watch a movie than cut down trees to publish one. Create a movie collection instead of having so much paper that it will rot one day!

3. most attractive activity

You can only read one book alone! but when you watch a movie, the experience is different and amazing. you can plan a movie day with friends and family, order great food and watch. Now, have you ever seen or heard of having a reading day? furthermore, reading books is a sacrosanct exercise. there are not two people reading a book together. even if there are, then there are book clubs to discuss. otherwise, people always prefer to read alone.

4. Shall we watch again?

It’s hard to read the same book over and over again. while one can watch a movie over and over again, as many times as the person wants. there are some classic movies like shawshank redemption that i may have seen almost 50 times but i never got bored. and not just shawshank, imagine the godfather series, reading the book vs. the movie series. yes the movies are amazing and have made up for my many lonely weekends. but one would avoid reading the godfather series of books on weekends.

5. too many details

Honestly, the books are too detailed. even for a simple object like a sky, a book can have a 4-page introduction. this can drive anyone crazy! the movies, on the other hand, don’t go into too much detail. but that doesn’t mean the movies ignore it too. they only show the most important and exciting parts in 2-3 hours. and that’s all the beauty! all crisp, to the point and in fact covers all the main areas of a book as well. The Harry Potter series hardly missed much in its movies. some of the areas were adjusted to fit in 2 or 3 hours, but if jk rowling doesn’t complain, what’s your problem?

6. songs as the icing

If there were no movies, where would you get those peppy dance numbers or those amazing romantic songs that you sing and dance to? books can give you ideas and words and deep insights about humans, but not peppy numbers believe it or not, they are a must these days! Have you ever set ringtones or downloaded game of thrones sheet music from a book? you’ve just demonstrated the important role movies play in filling your shuffle and mp3 players.

7. visualization is better than imagination

Book readers report that as they read, they imagine the words taking shape in front of them, which in turn makes reading books enjoyable. Some people are imaginative and can imagine Hazel saying goodbye to missing Gus in our stars. but we’d rather have shailene woodley and ansel elgort act out that scene so we can cry too, just like the book nerds say when they read the book!

In general, people have their preferences. We never judge book nerds, but let’s not make a fuss if a great movie is being made from a great book.
