Fall is just around the corner, and while you may not be excited about the end of your summer break, these middle grade books coming out in fall 2021 are worthy of great anticipation. For this list, I’ve included 90 middle grade books that I’ve been dying to read. this list includes book releases in August and later. several highly anticipated releases, like just be cool, jenna sakai by debbi michiko florence, may be missing because they’re on my first anticipated book list for 2021.

Note that most of the books on this list are mid-grade contemporary and realistic books, with the occasional science fiction. these are the books I like to read, and this is essentially my fall reading list. hopefully you’ll find some picks for your own list!
