peter straub is a famous writer of horror fiction. he is also a poet. he has won several awards such as the bram stoker and the international horror guild. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on March 2, 1943. He is seventy-two years old. his father was a salesman and his mother was a nurse. his father wanted him to be an athlete, while his mother wanted him to become a doctor. However, Peter Straub’s passion was reading and writing. he began to show his interest in telling stories when he was in kindergarten. he taught himself to read by cramming the newspaper with his children and rehearsing them over and over again with the other children in his town. he repeated this until he could make out the words. by the time he started first grade, he could scour the library for books on bandits, detectives, and scandals. Before long, he had become popular in his neighborhood as one of the best storytellers.
During his first grade he nearly died when he collided with a vehicle. most of his bones were fractured and he needed corrective surgeries missing a year of school. he passed sometimes in a wheelchair. he started writing horror novels after three decades, since he was immune to nightmares due to the bad experience he had as a child. he was immersed in books like never before. despite his childhood accident encounter, he was still social. he discovered that he can write humorous works of fiction. this became the turning point in his life. he earned a scholarship to milwaukee country day school where he found favor with the teachers, consistently maintaining top grades. he went to the university of wisconsin. he successfully graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English. after a year he got a ma in columbia. he married susan, got a job teaching english at his previous school, now known as milwaukee college. He took an interest in poetry, particularly that of John Ashbery, and wrote a replica of it. After three years, Peter Straub quietly left for Dublin, Ireland, in 1969, to pursue a Ph.D. so that he could pursue writing as a major profession.

Other films Straub has produced include The Full Circle and Lovecraft. He has also been nominated for the James Tiptree Award.
The ghost story is horror fiction involving the darkest fears and nightmares. it is a story of supernatural reckoning. Four men named Lewis Benedict, John Jaffrey, Edward Wanderly, and Ricky Hawthorne inadvertently murder a woman named Eva Galli. they are terrified and decide to hide death. they put her body in a rented vehicle and dumped it in a neighboring lake. as the vehicle plunges into the water, they see a scene that worries them for the rest of their lives. it seems that eva is alive because they can see the image of her from the back. frightened, they swear to keep the death a secret and carry on with their business. fifty years later men have grown old. They reside in Milburn, rich and comfortable. they join a team known as the clam chowder society that meets often to trade ghost stories. The four men refrain from talking about Eve’s story. Sadly, Wanderly panics at a cocktail party honoring an artist named Anne Veronica. the other members encounter a sequence of visionary nightmares in which most of them perish.

Not allowing themselves to admit that Eve is back to haunt them, they call on Ed’s nephew, Don Wanderly. Don is a writer of horror novels. When he arrives at Milburn, he appears to send out an evil signal that endangers the group and leads to the deaths of two more members. The survivors are joined by Don and Barnes, whose mother was killed by Eva and the gofers from her. together, the team works to seek out and demolish their adversaries. The Ghost Story helps Straub push the boundaries of horror. it is an honor for writers like henry james and many more. It’s unclear if Eve could live without the victim’s conviction for her to move on.
another fantasy novel by peter sraub is the land of shadows. it’s terrifying, terrifying full of fiction that makes the reader never want to stop reading. the characters constantly ask questions that only get feedback towards the end of the book. readers are filled with anxiety wondering what will be the horrible thing. you will find ghostly homes, discreet tunnels, magic and imagination and they will still keep you entertained. These stories are a good exercise for the brain as well as very entertaining. This book is about the story of an estate called Shadowland, owned by an intoxicated retired conjurer, who is Del’s uncle. The boys become wary of the wondrous stories of Uncle Del and the magic that surrounds the land of shadows. the boys discover much more when they spend the summer with their uncle. his journey from school to the land of shadows, his quests there, and the results of his ritual of passage all have a nice scary effect. Peter Straub continues to delve into the idea that ghosts ultimately take on the souls of those who watch them.
