starts by defining exactly what character traits are. then, together, make an anchor chart about character traits. ask students to help you name certain characteristics they think the characters in the stories might have. make sure to get them thinking about character traits on the outside and inside! I would like to do another lesson on positive versus negative character traits. (some traits can even be neutral). Finally, my biggest tip when teaching character traits to students: Before delving into a character’s traits, ask students to choose traits from the anchor chart to describe themselves. this gives you a lot of practice and helps you see who is getting the concept.
