hailey skoch, an 18-year-old high school student from prairie grove, arkansas, made her own prom dress out of hundreds of pages from harry potter books.
The teen spent four days working on the stunning dress. countless hours of tearing, folding, sewing, and gluing pages, sometimes working late into the night, until it all worked out.

hailey said “making the dress out of my favorite books was more of an act of love than anything else.”
“The books I had chosen were already being broken down and recycled from a thrift store. the glue and the spine were yellowed and torn. one would probably say that they were ‘well loved’ and read several times before. so, if anything, it was more sentimental and nostalgic than sad.”
He went on to say that “as I broke them down chapter by chapter, I got to read excerpts and favorite quotes that are very dear to me, so it was a very nostalgic ride.”
