in mill fields, dark water caverns, at the back of the cave water, just beyond the hobbler camp. when the water divides the path in front of the end of the rock, turn left and you will find a bench on the dry part by the rock, the book is on it.

Famous Kings of History: King Cedric finds a hut called Wimpet’s Sniffle in the villagers’ camp, at the top of the winding road above the village. You will find this book inside this hut.
valley of misty peaks
Famous Assassins: Xavier Smedley Go down the bottom of the path at the start of the Cold Breath Caverns cave and you’ll come across an ice pool with a frozen waterfall. there you will see a path that leads to a small bed with a treasure chest and this book.

how to be a sharpshooter head to the monorail entrance in mistpeak valley and you will find this book outside inside the locker. go inside and grab this weird book that’s on the windowsill.
Book of Mysteries Return 5 books to Samuel to start the side quest to find the Book of Mysteries. just before the snow line, from the monorail station to the entrance to the cavern of the golden key.
Descend from the cave to the large frozen lake with a dock. cross the lake and follow the path up, and you will come across a stone bridge, cross it and you will end up next to the books. in these books on the table, you will find the book of mysteries.

Baron von Orfen’s Extraordinary Homunculus in the Dusk House area, you’ll find this book behind the gazebo. you can locate the gazebo to the left of the giant, ghostly mansion.

famous kings in history: old king oswald in wooden mourning sees the ossuary through the cemetery gate. just as you enter the ossuary turn left and you will find this golden keyed door. You will find this book lying on the railing near the door with the golden key. Note that the Bored to Death side quest must be completed to get the Gone But Not Forgotten side quest, which grants you access to the Boneyard.
Sunset Sorrows This quest unlocks once 15 books are returned to Samuel. once the books are returned, your dog will take you to a grave, next to a tree, where this book is buried. many hollow men will appear.
bowerstone industry
famous killers: terence’s stance you can find this book inside the corner bar, located next to a bridge in industrial bowerstone, called ‘the riverter’s rest pub’. it’s on a table next to the piano.
Dangerous Things: Gunpowder in bowerstone industrial cesspools, you will find this book on the table during the basement kidnapping rescue mission. (To gain access to the cesspools, the Kidnapped side quest must be played.)
mill fields
select your own book of effort while on the “bored to death” side quest, sam and max will send you to the graveyard in millfields to acquire a book. once you fight the hollow men look around you in the small crypt where the big hollow man was present. the book will be found somewhere here.
Dangerous Things: Lightning Bolts gain access to the raiders’ mansion by finishing the game as an evil ally of the raiders or as part of the side quest “the raiders unspeakables” or you can buy it . turn right as you enter, turn left. the book will be on the table, next to the windows of the room with the statue and the fireplace.
the liver of darkness from the cavern of dark waters This key can only be accessed after accepting the “match hobbes” side quest, after the fight against the darkness. note that even after you finish this quest, you won’t be able to enter the bottom of the cave until after you come back here, after a while.

summoning the watchers when 10 rare books are returned to samuel, it will give you a trapdoor key. This key can be used in Old Bowerstone, before its destruction. Follow the golden path that leads to the throckbibble mansion and go through the trapdoor located in the basement.
A flight switch must be triggered, found on one of the pedestals in the rare item collection. shoot him twice and then kill the hobbes. then, use the correct attack to fire the fly switch another three times. this will cause some bookshelves to start moving and this book will be revealed.
