One of the things I’ve been doing since I got back from our trip is to keep planning our homeschooling. I found an email from readingteacher.com.

developed an online set of the same book readers for children who are learning to read. This early reading program was developed in 1977 and since it was federally funded, federal law requires that the program be in the public domain. these are a set of 52 books for beginning readers.
I was excited to see that they also have the same books available for print. i prefer to have ed on my lap while he works on his reading. we usually spend 5-10 minutes a day reading together (although we are busy with summer camps and activities for the next couple of weeks, so not in our normal routine). we will use them to complement the bob books.

I joined readingteacher.com (for free) and printed the first eight books. I’ll give you some pictures so you can get an idea if it might be right for your child. my daughter is about to learn to read so this fits us perfectly.

So again, your child can listen to these stories or read the stories themselves online, plus there are various activities to go along with that. You’ll also find the printables at ReadingTeacher.com. (Again, I wound up visiting Dr. Mariott’s website and downloaded them free from there.)
