Writing happened to her when she moved to the US in 1999. She got a job as a writer and was fired within a couple of years. She spent her growing up years in London, Ontario. She has a BA in English Literature from Carleton University, Ottawa.

She was forced to find a different publisher, paving the way to becoming a New York Times bestseller. Furthermore, it is available in forty-four languages and has sold more than ten million copies worldwide. It was published by Two Way Books. Sara Gruen’s fourth novel, known as Ape House, which was published in 2010, focuses on the Bonobo monkey. It was sold to Spiegel and Grau based on a 12-page summary.
In addition to animals, Sara also loves ruined castles rather than intact ones. Her favorite castle is Urquhart Castle, where she first visited at the age of 12. ruined castles give you a natural sense of wars, betrayals, murders, hate and all other feelings that happen in human life.
The technical writing job was something she thought was best for her as it involved using her writing skills. According to her, if she hadn’t been an author, she would probably have been a happy technical writer. research is one of her favorite parts of the writing process. During her initial research, making contacts with museums, historians and others so that she can ask questions and verify things that come up, incorporating actual incidents into her novels is a pleasure for her.
