Susan Conant is one of the prolific authors from the United States who likes to write her novels based on the cozy mystery and suspense genres. she is famous for writing the dog lovers mystery series and the gourmet girl mystery series. In writing the latter, she collaborated with her daughter named Jessica Conant-Park, who is also a renowned novelist. Prior to the start of her writing career, author Conant completed her graduation from Radcliffe University. She later obtained her Ph.D. from Harvard University in the subject of human development. In addition to writing mysteries, author Conant is known for working with the New England Alaskan Malamute Rescue. Conant established herself as a notable author in 1990 with the publication of her first novel, A New Leash on Death. this novel laid the beginning of his successful dog lovers series. Author Conant was born on January 1, 1946, in the Merrimack Valley, Massachusetts, United States. She has won the Maxwell Award for Best Fiction Writing a total of three times in her career. Recently, she has started writing a new mystery series called Cat Lovers Mysteries and has already published her first book. Author Conant didn’t have many friends growing up and she only had a couple of pointers named Nonny and Stuffy in her company. she also used to often think of some imaginary companions to spend her time with. These included a thirsty cat named Melirsty Medrinkable and a family of dogs. she used to call the dog parents dad and suh mom.
as author conant grew older, memories of the thirsty and dog family faded. she imagines the suhs eating fish guts and perishing. Thus, author Conant’s writing career began in her early childhood days, as she liked to invent imaginary animals and develop stories around them. in her stories, she often killed the fictional humans and let the animals live. her in this way she developed the ability to write mystery books about pets like dogs and cats. As of today, she has lived through a decade of a successful career as a mystery writer. she lives together with her loving husband and a beautiful daughter on the outskirts of boston. her husband works as a clinical psychologist and established his private practice in cambridge. Author Conant’s daughter, Jessica Park, is married and lives with her husband and a young son in New Hampshire. Jessica also works as an author and has teamed up with author Conant to write several books. Conant’s husband also likes dogs and cats. In her house they have had an Alaskan Malamute named Django and a pair of Chartreux cats named Shadow Celeste and Kansas City (KC). In her series of mysteries for dog lovers, author Conant has described the main character as Holly Winter, who works as a magazine writer and dog rescuer. the malamutes that author conant has featured in this series are composites, while the cats in the other series are actually portraits of her own chartreaux cats. The books in her mystery series have been very successful in Conant’s writing career. this has helped her a lot to focus on the development of her future books. As of now, she is working on developing the second book of her other mystery series.

the series of gourmet girl mysteries written by susan conant together with her daughter, consists of a total of 5 books, which were published between the years 2006 and 2010. each and every one of the books in this series features the character main as chloe carter. Author Conant depicts her as a boy-crazy 20-year-old girl living in Brighton, Massachusetts. The first book to appear in this series is titled “Steamed”. It was published by Berkeley in 2006. The author Conant has set the plot in Massachusetts, United States. In the opening sequence of the book, Chloe Carter is introduced as a crazy girl, better known as Gourmet Girl in chat rooms. she is a connoisseur of food and has survived several failed romances. she intends to find a perfect meal for her appetite and a perfect man in her life. To do this, Ella Chloe goes on a blind date with another foodie in town. but she, when she returns from the bathroom, she discovers that her date has been stabbed to death. this adds more problems in her life. after the murder of her first date of the week, she decides to go on another date. her later, she learns that her second date is the prime suspect in the first date’s murder. as a result, she decides to investigate the matter on her own using her detective skills. Chloe’s investigation plunges her into a scene at a gourmet restaurant where she discovers a world of ruthless killer competition and stormy affairs. eventually, her investigation leads her to confront the killer, who has no intention of making her date this time. But she Chloe is determined to push him behind her bars and make him pay for the deadly crime.
The next book in the series is titled “simmer down”. It was released by Berkeley Hardcover in 2007. Once again, the plot is set in Boston, Massachusetts. Early in the story, Chloe Carter’s new boyfriend, Josh Driscoll, is shown getting ready for the opening of Boston’s hottest new restaurant, called Simmer. But, during a fundraising show, in which Josh Driscoll presents some of his best kitchens, the owner of a modern homeowner was discovered dead. The owner is suspected to have died after eating Josh’s state-of-the-art, professional-grade food processor, called the RoboCoupe. Now, as the opening night of Josh’s new restaurant approaches, the list of suspects grows long. Now, Chloe Carter is required to find the killer before Simmer’s opening, or else the restaurant’s business will suffer. to do this, he thinks of keeping a close eye on the restaurant’s main course and seeing if anyone tries to get up to mischief a second time. he also keeps a close eye on guests arriving on opening night. Chloe Carter is determined to catch the killer and help her boyfriend’s restaurant prosper.
