timothy zahn is a famous novelist from the united states of america, who likes to write novels based on fantasy and science fiction genres. he was born on september 1, 1951 in chicago, illinois, usa. Zahn is particularly known for writing the Thrawn series of novels under the Star Wars series. In addition to this series, he has also published other fictional novels and short stories. Timothy Zahn’s writing career has been successful as he won several prestigious awards including the Hugo Award in 1984 for his novel Cascade Point. Zahn is also the author of several other novel series, including the Blackcollar Trilogy, the Cobra Series, the Hand of Thrawn Novels, and a few others.
The Thrawn Trilogy proved to be a turning point for both Zahn and the Star Wars franchise. It attracted widespread appreciation from around the world, and as a result, all three novels in the series successfully hit the New York Times bestseller lists. The success of the series gave Timothy Zahn the necessary motivation to write other series of novels in the young adult genre, such as the Dragonback series and the Pathfinders trilogy series. Zahn earned her Bachelor of Science in Physics from Michigan State University in 1973. After that, she moved to Illinois. She attended the University of Illinois at Urbana and earned her M.S. graduated in 1975 in physics. While pursuing his Ph.D. in physics, Zahn’s adviser became seriously ill and consequently died; however, he did not stop his studies due to the tragic incident and completed his Ph.D.
zahn had started writing science fiction stories in 1975 as a hobby, but soon became interested in writing novels. as a result, he became a professional writer after finishing his studies. As of today, Zahn lives in Bandon, Oregon with his wife Anna Zahn and his son Corwin Zahn. Zahn has described the day he received his first offer from his agent. he was busy writing his first novel for this new publisher, bantam books around 4 o’clock on november 1, 1989. he rang the phone and it was his agent tim his on the other end of the line . he informed her about an interesting offer that changed her life and his career completely.

the ‘star wars: the thrawn trilogy’ series of novels written by timothy zahn consists of three novels published between the years 1991 and 1993. the first novel in the trilogy is ‘heir to the empire’, which was published by Bantam Spectra Publisher in 1991. The novel is based on the science fiction and fantasy genres and is set in the fictional world of space galaxies. The plot of the novel revolves around the lives of the main characters like Luke Skywalker, Lando Calrissian, Han Solo, Leia Organa and Mara Jade. the novel begins with the introduction of the return of the jedi, which is the rebel alliance. More than five years have passed since the destruction of the Death Star by the Rebel Alliance. along with that he had also defeated the emperor of the old imperial starfleet and darth vader and also driven the remnants of the imperial starfleet to a far corner of the galaxy. the introduction of princes leia and han solo shows them married and expecting their jedi twins.
In addition, Luke Skywalker is depicted as the first Jedi Knight of Jedi, a position that had a long-awaited list of contenders. Some thousand light-years away, the Emperor’s last warlord took command of the destroyed Imperial fleet. he has prepared it to go to war against the new republic. To fulfill his ambitions, the dark warrior has been able to make a couple of discoveries. the discoveries posed a great threat to all that the brave people of the rebel alliance had fought hard to build. they feared that the dark warrior’s discoveries might destroy everything they had made over the years of fighting. the novel features descriptions of explosive showdowns, mystery, invention, and epic action sequences. Readers found the novel extremely interesting and worthy of being called part of the Star Wars franchise.

the second novel of the thrawn trilogy was titled ‘dark force rising’. It was published in 1992 by the Spectra publishing house and consists of the same characters from the first novel as protagonists. These included Luke Skywalker, Lando Calrissian, Han Solo, Mara Jade, and Leia Organa. the novel’s plot is set on the same fictional world as the Imperial fleet, and picks up from where the first novel had left off. The novel features Grand Admiral Thrawn as the most ruthless and cunning of warlords. he has taken control of the dying empire from the imperial fleet. he has full command over the remnants of the fleet and has plans to launch a grand campaign to destroy the new republic.
At the same time, Han Solo and Lando Calrissian work hard to find enough evidence to prove treason within the Republican Council. Instead, they encounter a fleet of ghostly warships prepared to go to war for Admiral Thrawn. the warships seemed to be beneficial to the enemies. it might even bring doom to the remnants of the fleet. An even more dangerous problem looms over the fleet with the rise of the new Dark Jedi. he has risen from the wreckage of a shrouded past and survived on bitterness. the dark jedi tries to corrupt like skywalker and bring him to his side to strengthen himself against everyone else. the novel became an instant hit with readers. It turned out to be a good entry in the Star Wars franchise. many readers and critics recommended the novel for its unique depiction of characters and plot. Author Timothy Carson received much praise from critics and his fellow authors. this motivated him to write many more novels in the fantasy and science fiction genre.
