thomas matthew bradby is a novelist and journalist. He was born on January 13, 1967 in Malta. After a short time in Gibraltar, he moved to Britain and was educated at Westbourne House School, Sherborne School and Edinburgh University.
starting in 1990, he began working for itn, a producer of itv news when he joined as an editorial apprentice. After that, he became a producer for ITV political editor Michael Brunson in 1992.
From 1993 to 1996, Bradby was ITV’s Ireland correspondent, covering events such as the Ira Ceasefire, the Northern Ireland peace process, and Bill Clinton’s visit to Ireland in late 1995.

from 1999 to 2001, he worked as a correspondent for itv in asia. During this time, he was injured while covering riots in Jakarta against newly elected President Abdurrahman Wahid. Tom was hit in the leg by a flare attached to a chain. “shadow dancer” was adapted by bradby himself into a movie starring clive owen and andrea riseborough in 2012.
