just did a light tour of soho (exercising first thing in the morning has been a big change). you owe it to yourself to try it for 7 days.

You are reading: Top 10 personal development books

I am now installed in creative mode. great Colombian coffee. room full of books fresh flowers. (Another tip: Your environment dramatically influences your creativity.)

So, I wanted to share more valuable information with you on my ongoing obsession with helping you lead without a degree + build a life that makes history.

I’m often asked which books are the most transformative for people like us who want to do fantastic work and lead our best lives.

so here are 10 of the best. read them share them. study them live them…

  1. jonathan livingston seagull. by richard bach.

with lines like: “don’t believe what your eyes tell you. all they show is limitation”, this book will move you deeply. I reread it in thailand. it’s still unbelievably good.

think and get rich. by napoleon hill.

Fantastic book. not so much about financial wealth as about the realization of a rich life. You’ll learn how important it is to have a burning desire (this galvanizes your focus and triggers your creativity to unleash) + the imperative to set clear goals + the value of “a mastermind alliance.” this book truly changed my life when i was starting out as a self-published author with nothing but a dream on my hands. times were tough. this book helped me.

the meditations of Marcus Aurelius. Goodbye, Marcus Aurelius.

marcus aurelius was a warrior, who later became roman emperor. he wrote his lessons on greatness and a life well lived during a multi-year military campaign. someone got the notes from him. and put it in this book. I return to this book often. strengthen my character. and decides to help more people.

    steve-jobs. by walter isaacson.

One of the best books I’ve ever read. period.

long road to freedom. by nelson mandela.

nelson mandela is one of my heroes. noble. brave. focused a visionary if he could be 1/100 of what he is, he would be delighted. this is his autobiography. You will walk with him through his days as a lawyer, his time as a disruptor, his years in prison and his period as a positional leader of South Africa.

Stop pretending to be rich. by thomas stanley.

thomas stanley became famous for “the millionaire next door”. but this book – not so well known – is exceptional. He explains the concept of “the resplendent rich,” shares how many of us live beyond our means, and how to create true financial freedom. Like most books I read, I listened to it.

How do you think? by james allen.

maybe 10 times. that’s at least how many times I’ve read this book. And like all great books, it seems better, wiser, and deeper each time I read it. of course, the book has not changed. just my ability to grasp the information. and understand the concepts. This book is all about the power of your daily thought. and how it drives the behavior of your life. as you well know: your behavior shows us your beliefs. and this amazing book will inspire you to build new ones.

the magic of thinking big. by david schwartz.

super handy. tons of value. great concepts, such as “going through life in first class”. Every student, teammate, and human being should read this book (along with “How to Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie; that work should be on my list too. Right).

talent is overrated. by geoff colvin.

I read this a few years ago. it changed the way I looked at genius. It confirms much of the work of exceptional performance researchers like the famous Anders Ericsson, that talent has less to do with natural gifts and much more to do with devotion to a skill, relentless practice, and patience. another excellent audiobook.

    spark. by john ratey.

One of the best books I’ve read in years. I am on my third reading. shares the latest (and oh-so-fascinating) research on how exercise transforms the brain, our performance, our productivity, and even builds a new kind of brain that’s great at resisting stress. Please do your life a great favor. and read this book. today!

good. there you go some of my favorite books. go study them. and use them.

remember that ideas perfectly translated into reality are the key to impressive success. and you become more than you really are.

oh, and definitely make some time every day to read. small advances in your knowledge base lead to substantial improvements in your performance over time.

Thank you for taking the time to read my posts. I work hard to make them valuable to you. so we take you the best possible. sooner rather than later.

be cool. and dream even bigger. the world needs you to shine.

    speak soon,
