Allen was incarcerated with Cathy’s father for a few years, but after his father died and Allen was released, he set out to find Cathy’s family and steal the riches his father had hidden.

Travis McGee sets out to find Allen and make sure Cathy gets her money back. Thrown into the fray is a wealthy woman named Lois who is kidnapped by Junior Allen. McGee makes sure that between chasing down the bad guy and returning the money to her rightful owner, Lois is rescued.

a great first book, but the series just keeps getting better as we learn more about who the real mcgee is.

This is the third book in the series. Here, Travis McGee is asked by a snooty, wealthy client to come to a secret meeting in the Southwest. Unfortunately for McGee, her clients are shot to death before he has a chance to talk to her properly.

It turns out that Mona, her client, hired someone to recover her rich husband’s money; who she is sure is stealing her money. Because Travis McGee saw her client get shot, she has now become a suspect and needs to clear her name while she fixes the missing money.

this book is full of twists, turns and suspense and keeps the reader spinning

film adaptations

so far darker than amber and travis mcgee, an adaptation of the empty copper sea has been made into a movie.

the travis mcgee series is a set of novels that can be read over and over again, and you seem to find something different each time. finding a main character that can affect the reader like mcgee makes it truly wonderful.
