Trevanian was a pseudonym used by one of the prominent American authors named Rodney William Whitaker. he is believed to have written several successful novels throughout his writing career. Trevanian used to write in a variety of genres and had achieved the status of best-selling author. He was born on June 21, 1931 and died on December 14, 2005. When he was a child, he was always captivated by interesting stories. his family was very poor and struggled a lot with poverty. rodney lived a considerable amount of time in albany during his youth. his experience during this time is described in one of his recently published works. trevanian studied at the university of washington and earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. While studying there, he wrote a three-act play called Eve of Bursting. the author himself directed this work and used it as a thesis for the master’s production in theater at the university. Trevanian later earned his Ph.D. in film and communications from Northwestern University.

after earning his doctorate, he became involved in teaching at dana university, located in blair, nebraska. later, he was chairman of the university’s communication department. Trevanian also served for some time in the Navy during the Korean War. he was given a fulbright scholarship thanks to which he had the opportunity to study in england. By the time he had written his first couple of books, he was serving as chair of the Department of Television, Radio, and Film at the University of Texas, Austin. rodney continued to teach at this university for a few more years. He was married to Diana Brandon. the couple had 4 children, 2 sons and 2 daughters. They used to live in the Basque Country in France for several years. rodney died in the west of england. In one of his interviews, the author Trevanian had said that the pseudonym Trevanian was chosen by his wife, which is taken from the name of the English historian named G.M. trevelyan. Many of the novels Rodney wrote in various genres became best sellers and received fairly favorable reviews from critics. When his first book was published, he was 40 years old and still teaching at the University of Texas. It was a thriller called The Eiger Sanction. Shortly after its publication, the book became a worldwide bestseller. Following immense success, it was chosen to be adapted into a film in 1975 directed by and starring Clint Eastwood in the title role. In one of his last novels, Trevanian described the film as bland. At his request, he was given the film’s script credits as Rod Whitaker. In the later years of his career, there were rumors that Robert Ludlum was the real Trevanian due to Trevanian’s disapproval of giving interviews. but he came out later and downplayed the rumours.

When Jonathan joins the mission, he is tasked with locating several secret films depicting numerous incriminating high-ranking British officials. for this, he had to target a deadly figure from the underworld. Jonathan faces a great threat to his life as he enters the web of depravity and intrigue. Later, when Jonathan Hemlock manages to piece together the dangerous puzzle, he finds himself trapped and fatally drugged. In the end, he is forced to make a daring attempt to escape and save his life.
