10 turkeys on the road: another fun turkey counting book. this one takes place on a “hot and foggy day” instead of on thanksgiving. still, it would make a good reading mentor text to talk about problems and solutions.
little turkey: This lively story is one of my favorites. a turkey wants blackberries that grow out of reach. the other barnyard animals look askance, but he perseveres and invents a solution. Plus, he’d be great at showing some guts!
