Born August 5, 1934, Wendell Berry is an 82-year-old well-known and highly respected novelist, environmental activist, and poet. he has also made his mark in the field of agriculture and also as a cultural critic. he certainly is a prolific writer and has written a number of short stories, poems, novels and also essays on a variety of subjects. over the past several decades, he has been able to leave behind a rich trove of writing that critics say will continue to inspire and interest generations of readers for many decades to come. It would also be pertinent to mention here that Berry has rightly and deservedly become a member of the southern writing community. he has also received the famous national medal for the humanities. Furthermore, he was also a Jefferson Professor in the year 2012. Furthermore, he was also a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2013. Therefore, it would not be out of place to mention here that his talent has been recognized in everywhere. He is the first writer to be inducted into the Kentucky Famous Writers Hall of Fame and this award was presented to him in the year 2015. The Richard C Holbrooke Distinguished Achievement Award was also presented to him in the year 2013.

berry was the oldest of j’s four children. meter. Berry, who was a tobacco grower and attorney in Henry County, Kentucky. his mother’s name was virginia erdman berry. Following his K-12 education, Wendell Berry earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in English from the University of Kentucky. In 1956 he met Norman Gurney, who would also become a writer for a period of time. he married tanya amyx in the year 1958. his first novel was published in the year 1960 and was called nathan couiter. This was the beginning of Berry’s journey as a writer. Help came from many places for this budding writer and author. With the help of a scholarship from the John Simon Guggenhelm Memorial Foundation, Berry was able to move to Italy and France with his family.

In these two countries he was referred to by his pseudonym wallace fowlie. he was actively involved as a translator and critic of French literature. He spent the year 1962 to 1964 as a professor of English at New York University at his college in the Bronx. During these years he began to hone his writing skills as well as developing his farming skills on a farm he purchased. He had a very extensive and very successful writing career during the 1970s and early 1980s. He wrote for the Rodale Press, which included writing and editing for his publications called Organic Farming and Gardening and also The New Way. This was due to his attachment and taste for agriculture in general and the preservation of the environment in particular.

She would also be pertinent to mention that she has participated in many movements against activities that are perhaps detrimental to the cause of preserving our environment. these thoughts find strong reference in her fictions, poems and essays. we’re going to take a look at two of those books from the long list of books she’s written.

This book is part of his Port William series and centers around a character named Any Catlett. she is seen visiting a place where she has been many times before. andy is a nine-year-old boy and therefore the trip for him is an adventure and he takes it very seriously. he firmly believes that this journey will be a learning experience and perhaps lead to the first stage of transformation from childhood to adulthood. The entire book is written against the backdrop of the Christmas season of 1943, and his experiences and learnings during this journey have been well presented in this book. the book beautifully highlights the way the old is giving way to the new. The books continue and Andy becomes an adult and poignantly remembers the years he spent visiting this new place. Superbly written, there is almost no doubt that this is one of Wendell Berry’s best books.

This is another wonderful berry book and it revolves around a mouse who is famous for his elegant whiskers and reddish tan fur. she is happy living on the edge of a forest and for her this is well and truly the center of the world around which she survives and moves from one day to the next. however, she is unaware of the fact that not far from her house is a large river. it is so big that she like a rat is not able to measure the size and magnitude of it. One day, a flash flood rips her out of her house and thrusts her into a world of adventure. she has to use all of her abilities at her disposal to survive and stay alive. She is an excellent representation of survival against all odds and the fact that she comes with original drawings by famous artist Davis Seals You makes her even more interesting and indisputable, to say the least.

the above are just two of many berry books. each of his books is unique and different from the others and deals with different aspects of life. her poetry and essays are also amazingly well written and make for very interesting reading, to say the least.
