book status guidelines
When you enter your textbook’s isbn into our search box, you’ll get various offers based on the following: New, Very Good, Good, Acceptable, and Unacceptable. this is what each of them means.
new
the textbook has never been used before. that means no marks, writings or damage. and the cover must be free of stickers. if books have supplemental materials, they must be included and not used or opened.
yes. books must be new, just as it came when purchased.
very good
This condition is the same as “new” discussed above but used. that means the cover must be clean, free of marks, writing, damage, etc.
everything must be intact, including supporting materials. It’s okay if the materials are used, but they must be in good condition.
fine

all covers and pages of the textbook are available. highlights and notes should be less than five pages. Supplementary materials should be included. Minor flaws are allowed, but not water damage.
acceptable
all pages must be intact with no water damage. limited notes and highlights are acceptable, but only ten pages and supporting materials should be included.
unacceptable
If the book has missing pages, water damage or torn binding, we cannot accept them. Likewise, if the practice books have writing on more than five pages, we cannot take them.
Now, there are items we don’t accept, such as:

- counterfeit books,
- special edition books, etc.

packaging guidelines
Your books can get damaged during shipment. There have been some instances where we’ve received textbooks in worse conditions than what our clients quote. We understand, and that’s why we recommend packaging your books well.
See our detailed guide on how to submit your textbooks. includes everything you need to know to make sure your books don’t get damaged. however, here are some essential things to keep in mind:
- We offer free shipping, but our shipping label is for one box only. so don’t print multiple copies of the same label for multiple boxes. If you want additional labels, go to “your orders”, find the order for which you need an additional label, and then click “order details”.
- our prepaid shipping comes with up to $100 insurance coverage for ups and fedex. so if your package cost less than $100 and it gets damaged, they will compensate you. however, if your package costs more than $100, you must purchase an additional issue.

book acceptance guidelines
In order for your textbooks to be accepted, please remove all tape and stickers, even if they have isbns. Stickers and tapes usually hide any information that shows the book is not for sale or obscures the original ISBN.
If the book is a loose-leaf edition, make sure you use the correct isbn and have all the pages in the correct order. in addition, the loose-leaf book must be in its original packaging. Finally, it must include the original CD or DVD of a textbook, and it must be in working condition.
