Ron Roy’s A-Z Mysteries Series Author Ron Roy writes the “A-Z Mysteries” series of children’s chapter books. the series began publication in the year with the release of “the absent author” which was released in the year 1997. ron reached the end of the alphabet with “the zombie zone” which is the 26th and final book in the series and it was released in 2005.

the series is linked to roy’s other series, the “calendar mysteries” series. It stars Dink Duncan, Ruth Rose Hathaway and Josh Pinto. they are smart kids who solve mysteries and crimes, and they are third graders who live close to each other. The children live in Green Lawn, Connecticut, a small town. Kids have pets, parents, and hobbies, yet they love a good mystery more than anything else in the world.

after writing “the absent author”, i knew i wanted to write more stories about josh, ruth rose and dink. he saw those two a’s in the title and thought about having two b’s and then two c’s for the sequels. so he started working on the bald highwayman and the canary caper. from here the mysteries were born from a to z!

“the absent author” is the first novel in the “a-z mysteries” series and was published in 1997. dink writes to wallis wallace (his favorite author and mystery writer) and invites him to visit green lawn. To Dink’s amazement, Wallace agrees to come. However, when the big day arrives, Wallace is nowhere to be found.

The police think he missed his flight, but Dink suspects something dirty. It’s up to Dink and Ruth Rose and Josh (his two best friends) to track down this famous writer, before it’s too late.

“the bald bandit” is the second novel in the “mysteries from a to z” series and was published in the year 1997. he just robbed the green lawn savings bank! A private detective arrives at Dink’s door trying to find the boy who got the video of the crime, Dink and his friends volunteer to track him down.

after all, there is a reward involved. however, tracking down a red-haired boy is not that easy, especially if you don’t want him to be found. Could the trio find this boy and the videotape of him before the bandit does?

“the canary caper” is the third novel in the “a-z mysteries” series and was published in 1998. ruth rose, dink and josh receive an urgent call from a mrs. davis her canary is missing! the little bird disappeared without a trace, and it’s not the only one. Two other pets also went missing.

Children are suspicious of this pet kidnapper. now that the tiger, ruth rose’s kitten, is also missing, it’s gotten personal!

“the deadly dungeon” is the fourth novel in the “a-z mysteries” series and was published in 1998. wallis wallace invited dink, ruth rose, and josh to a sleepover. in an enchanted castle!

but as soon as the young detectives show up, they start hearing screams from behind the halls. Are they going to find out who, or rather what, is haunting the moose mansion?

“the empty envelope” is the fifth novel in the “a-z mysteries” series and was published in 1998. dink continues to receive envelopes in the mail addressed to “d. Duncan”. however, all the letters inside start with “dear doris” and don’t make any sense.

josh and ruth rose think someone is playing a trick on dink. However, Dink believes there is more to it than that, particularly after Doris herself arrives, demanding the letters from her!

“the hawk’s feathers” is the sixth novel in the “a-z mysteries” series and was published in 1998. josh finds a nest of young hawks in the woods, he, ruth rose and dink start visiting it every days . until the morning comes when they find it empty!

The kids then find an injured falcon with its wing feathers clipped off, and they’re sure someone is up to no good. could you find out what’s going on before it’s too late to save these birds?

“The Goose’s Gold” is the seventh novel in the “mysteries from a to z” series and was published in 1998. Sand, sun and sunken treasure? That’s what Ruth Rose, Dink and Josh find when they vacation in Florida. This old ship has been found off the coast and it’s full of gold!

A couple of divers are collecting some donations so they can get the loot out. they promise to share what they find, however could this be too good to be true? It’s up to dink and his friends to get to the bottom of things!

“The Haunted Hotel” is the eighth novel in the “A-Z Mysteries” series and was published in the year 1999. A ghostly guest has just checked into the Shangri-La Hotel! it’s close to halloween and there are reports of strange sounds and even stranger sights being seen from the only hotel on green lawn.

The hotel guests and neighbors are spooked, and Ruth Rose, Dink and Josh must find out what’s going on. before green grass in a ghost town.

“The Invisible Island” is the ninth novel in the “A-Z Mysteries” series and was published in 1999. Ruth Rose, Josh and Dink have a picnic on Squaw Island and find a hundred dollar bill. when they explore again, they find this whole cave full of money.

“The Jaguar Jewel” is the tenth novel in the “A-Z Mysteries” series and was published in 2000. Dink, Ruth Rose, and Josh visit New York City! Dink’s uncle works as a museum curator with a stunning new treasure. it is a statue of a jaguar cradling an emerald between its front paws.

However, when he learns that the emerald was replaced with a fake one, dink’s uncle is the prime suspect. He’s going straight to jail if ruth rose, josh and dink can’t catch the real thief!
