andrew clements was born in camden, new jersey in 1949. he lived in oaklyn and chery hill until he was in sixth grade when he and his family moved to springfield, illinois. He began writing as a high school student at Springfield High School. his journey as an author had not been a one-day event. at a tender age, he had gotten used to reading many books. this was part of his activity during the summer times together with his family where they used to spend time in a cabin on a lake in maine. during these days, he would spend his nights reading after being busy fishing during the day. these quiet moments helped him start to think like a writer, and as a result, he began to read more and more. A defining moment in Andrew Clements’ journey as a writer came when he was given back a poem that his English teacher had written. To what he didn’t expect, he had drawn one that he admits was a rare event in his teacher’s class. In addition, the teacher went further and lavished praise on his writing and even suggested that it be published. This was a fuel of inspiration that took him to Northwestern University and made him confident in his own writing ability. Occasionally at Northwestern University, he was encouraged to write by his professors. he started writing on his own apart from class homework. he took up a literature career where he excelled in essays and poetry. Clements became interested in writing songs and poems, and learned to play the guitar while at Northwestern University. however, he wrote when he felt like it and did not write without an inner spirit of approval. he regarded writing as hard work, which he admits even now.
andrew clements taught creative writing in a series of summer workshops in high school. this was an avenue for him to practice as a teacher and he describes it as a bittersweet experience with hard work and fun involved as well. Clements graduated from Northwestern University and took an additional year to prepare as a teacher. he earned a master of art in teaching from louis national university. for seven years he taught english in public schools north of chicago, where he taught for two years in fourth grade, three years in eighth grade, and another two years in high school. this was an invaluable time for him to build year-long relationships with students and children and a joyous time interacting with bright, fun children. he also had the opportunity to read more and more and develop his ideas and grow as a well-rounded writer.

In his first year as a teacher, Andrew Clements married his wife, who had a career in professional theater. they acquired their first house and then the second, in which they had their son. In teaching him, Clements was fired and rehired multiple times in a roller coaster of events. this was due to the decline in enrollment of children at the school, thus leading to his dismissal as a “downsizing” policy. With the constant hiring and firing, he moved with his wife and his two-and-a-half-year-old son to New York where he looked for a reliable job. he wanted a stable career as a singer-songwriter. It didn’t work out the way he wanted it to, but this was an invaluable opportunity for him to sit back, think, and come up with great ideas as a writer. he recognizes this as a vital discipline for any writer.
He got a publishing job at a small publisher that specialized in how-to books where the books had photos with informative captions below the photos. His name first appeared in print in a book A Country Christmas Treasure where his name appeared in the acknowledgments section as one of the book’s artisans.

After working for about a year at the publisher, a friend he had known in his college days invited him to a new company’s children’s book launch. While he was working at this new company, known as Alphabet Press and then Picture Book Studio, he began writing text for picture books. he also worked as editorial director where he interacted with talented authors, illustrators and author-illustrators. Little by little, Clements began to write his own illustrated books, which would become the basis of his illustrious career as a writer.
In 1990, he conceived an idea for his first novel. she started to write a story about a boy who makes up a new word. This story became Ella Frindle’s first book, which was published in 1996. Frindle was very successful and popular. This established Andrew Clements as a full-time writer from now on. Clements is now a full-time writer and stays in Maine, where he used to spend his early summer days, along with his wife.

Larson is unpopular for handing out worksheets every morning and then sitting down to read the paper. landry, whose dream is to become a paper journalist, takes advantage of this time, in the absence of teaching, to editorialize her own newspaper landry news. The days of solitary anonymity of hers are now over.
