The Divergent Trilogy, written by novelist Victoria Roth, has become one of today’s most popular young adult series.
The series depicts a dystopian future in which society is divided into five factions. each faction is defined by its particular aptitudes and natural values. every year, every 16-year-old has the opportunity to choose the faction to which he wants to dedicate his life.

The series is full of life lessons and has received praise from establishments such as the New York Times and Entertainment Weekly. it has sold more than 30 million copies since it was first printed and turned into a film series that has earned its own accolades.

Because of the enormous attention Divergent has attracted, many young adult fans are now looking for similar novels to read after the trilogy is over.
One of my friends has long insisted that I read this particular series, but I only started reading it this year. I blame my ever-growing list of books to read.
After reading the first book, however, I was struck by the similarities between this and some books I had already finished in the past. so if you’re looking for books similar to the trilogy, here are some of my recommendations:

The official age rating for divergent is 14+, although it indicates reading ability rather than reading adequacy.
According to common sense media, a non-profit organization dedicated to selecting media suitable for children, parents believe the series is good for children ages 13 and up. although the children themselves think that 12 is a suitable age.
however, it mainly depends on the maturity level of your child. If you think your child can handle the level of the series’ mature themes, go for it. just remember to ask about their reading experience afterwards. It’s not only a great way to bond, but also to learn what your child thinks about the book and if there’s anything they’re struggling with.
what makes a book already popular?
all these books share some characteristics. each of them features strong female characters, the stress of living in an unjust and dangerous world, the desire to change the status quo, and the search for deeply hidden secrets.
but they also capture what it feels like to be a teenager. his barely grown characters are suddenly thrust into situations that are too difficult for one person to handle.
These novels show how teenagers overcome challenges, mature and discover who they are. it’s one of the main reasons young adult fiction is a thriving genre.
While the situations these characters find themselves in are far from real, the processes they go through, including all the mistakes and triumphs they experience along the way, is something any teen can relate to.
