putman finished high school when he was only sixteen. she grew up in nebraska and went to college. She studied at the University of Nebraska, as well as George Mason University Law School, eventually attending the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University.
once he finished college, he decided to move to washington, d.c. so she could start a career in public policy.
she is married to her husband and they have four children together, they all live together in indiana. She also lectures at Purdue University on ethics and law, in addition to practicing law.
Cara began her journey through writing in 2005. It was then that she decided she would try to write a novel. That year was also when she went to a local Christian bookstore for a book signing, where she would meet Colleen Coble. She confided her dream of writing to Colleen and has been writing ever since.

the main character, audrey stone, is a young woman who lives in the united states. Pearl Harbor has recently happened, and the bold young woman wants to do whatever she can to help the war effort. However, she is just a normal woman from Nebraska who makes a living as a school teacher and is not sure what she can do to help.
The solution arises when members of their community decide to start a soup kitchen at the city’s train station. there you can find a role and start helping. Audrey spends most of her time there, providing kindness and simple food to the various soldiers who pass by.
She is very busy there with many things to do and is pleased to help the war effort as she wanted. She is constantly engaged while she is at the station, but despite all this, she allows herself the opportunity to spend a little time getting acquainted with a rancher (who happens to be very handsome).
willard johnson is worried about his brother. he wanted to go see the world and leave the ranch, so he joined the army. Willard is worried that they are going to kill him. it seems that his fears were justified. when all this happens, the rancher feels the urge to avenge the death of his brother by joining the navy.

lainie gardner is the main character in this story, and her dream used to be to be a nurse and serve her country. doing something important related to the war was what she wanted. But all that changed with rheumatic fever.
lainie is determined not to let that stop her and the last thing she will do is go home to her parents to take care of her. She wants to go to Fort Robinson to find her own job in the war, so she goes there and meets a soldier who has her own dreams.
tony has been afraid of dogs since he was a child. that’s when he was bitten by one. however, the irony is that he is at fort robinson and his job is to train dogs for war, as well as the people who take care of them. he feels that the army could use him a little better, but right now he can’t leave the job, even though he hates it.
The outpost is out of the way and he feels like he just wants to get out of there. While he can’t see why a woman would want him, Lainie is a woman he doesn’t mind meeting. she is a great distraction from work too. he is trying to do his job. but does he have a future with this new woman in his life?
