charlaine harris is a new – york times bestselling author born on november 25, 1951 and has been writing mysteries for thirty years. She was raised and born in the Mississippi River Delta area of the United States. she currently lives in southern arkansas with three children and her husband. Although her early work consisted mainly of poems about teenage angst and ghosts, she later began writing plays when she joined the University of Rhodes in Memphis-Tennessee. a few years later, she began writing books. her subsequent novels have been of the urban fantasy genre. She is well known for the Southern Vampire Mysteries series, also known as the Sookie Stackhouse novels.
career and life
Charlaine Harris’ birthplace is the Mississippi-Tunica area. It is after writing two stand-alone mysteries that she began the light-hearted Aurora Teagarden novels with actual murders. It was a 1190 Agatha Awards nomination for Best Book. She wrote many books in the series before beginning to branch out to other works in the mid-1990s. Except for the short stories, she never picked up the series again until 1999.
In 1996, Harris wrote the first Shakespeare series featuring cleaning woman Detective Lily Bard and set in rural Arkansas. The fifth book in the series, Shakespeare’s Counselor, was printed in 2001 and was followed by Dead Giveaway, which is a short story printed in Ellery – Queen Mystery – magazine in December 2001. Harris later created the series of southern vampiric mysteries about a telepathic waitress known as sookie stackhouse who goes to work at a bar in northern louisiana. Dead Until Dark, which is the first book in the series, won the 2001 Mystery Paperback Anthony Award. Each of the novels follows Sookie as she does her best to find solutions to mysteries involving to werewolves, vampires and other supernatural creatures, this series has been seen in many countries in Europe and other countries including Mexico and Brazil. In the series, Charlaine Harris has written thirteen books and Dead Ever After is the thirteenth and final novel of the books and was printed in May 2003 with After Dead a companion book published in October 2013.

On her private life, Charlaine Harris has been married for years and has two grandchildren and three sons. Additionally, Harris is a former karate student and weightlifter and is a cinephile and avid reader. At her current residence, Magnolia in Arkansas, Harris is the St. james – principal director of the episcopal church.

plot summary
monthly, locals: crime lovers gather in lawrenceton, which is a small town in georgia, to discuss famous murder cases. everyone is a bit shocked when one of them is beaten up in the same manner as the crime that was going to be talked about that night. Aurora Roe Teagarden, the librarian, is not only a member of the club, but also a murder suspect and a potential victim as other murders follow one another. each of the murders is mimicking a crime that is famous. Roe has to work very fast to find out which of her classmates is the killer. it could be the new mystery writer in town who had said he was bored just writing, it could be the police detective who has a sudden romantic interest in roe or one of the other twelve members of the royal assassins club. p>

Her third book of eight novels in Harris’s Aurora Teagarden Mysteries is Three Bedrooms, a Corpse, and in this novel, Aurora Roe Teagarden searches for her American dream and decides to test the waters of the family business: real estate sales. but she is shocked to learn that only one thing is a naked corpse in the first house she gets to know. She later realizes that there is more to real estate than she knows or thought when a second body turns up in another house.
Her first book in the South – Vampire Mysteries series is Dead Until Dark and is narrated by Sookie Stackhouse who is a telepathic waitress. it is set around the same time the novel was published. At some point, Sookie narrates how the invention of synthetic blood has made it very unnecessary for vampires to eat humans for sustenance. she recounts how the big reveal was an event that was televised internationally in which vampires expressed their desire for peaceful coexistence with humans. also very important for the development of the plot is the fact that vampire blood is an illegal and addictive drug that, among other effects, accelerates healing.
