David Lagercrantz is a Swedish journalist and author. He is best known for writing the last books in the Girl in the Spider’s Web series. he also wrote i am zlatan ibrahimović, a sports biography, which was a huge seller selling over 500,000 copies in just six weeks in his native sweden.
lagencrantz is from the city of solna, stockholm. Solna is an urban municipality that is home to many major companies. The area may be best known to some as the home of the final matches of the 1958 FIFA World Cup (Men’s) and the 1995 FIFA Women’s World Cup. It was born to Olof Lagercrantz and Martina Ruina. Her father was a literary scholar and her mother was a publicist, so words were always an important part of her life. Ella’s sister Marika Lagencrantz is an actress and diplomat. David is married and has three children.
He would go on to study philosophy and religion at university before graduating from Gothenburg School of Journalism. he would go straight to work after university and quickly began his career at the regional newspaper sundsvalls tidning, where he took a job as a police reporter. his success at this rate would eventually lead him to work for the national newspaper expressen. while he worked there, he covered many of the country’s top cases. his writing was most notable when he wrote about the Åmsele murders, which he later turned into a book.

david made his breakthrough as a novelist with the release of the fall of man in wilmslow. The book was about the death of British mathematician Alan Turing and a young detective’s investigation into it. the book ended up being translated into more than fifteen different languages with numerous positive reviews and worldwide sales.
lagencrantz had a great leap in his career when he was selected by norstedts publishing house to resume writing the millenium series. The series, written by Stieg Larsson, began with The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and had three books in the series before Larsson’s death. Rather than let the series end there, Lagencrantz took up the mantle and began writing the series. he wrote the fourth novel, the girl in the web, and then followed up with the girl who takes an eye for an eye and the girl who lived twice. received many positive reviews for The Girl in the Spider’s Web, as it was named one of the best thrillers of the year by Esquire magazine and was shortlisted for the 2016 Petrona Award for Best Scandinavian Crime Novel of the Year.

the girl in the spider’s web ended up being adapted into a movie with claire foy starring lisbeth salander as the main character. at the time, it was the second book in the series to be adapted into a film. Lagercrantz was also charitable with the money he earned writing, as he donated €100,000 of his earnings from The Girl Who Takes an Eye for an Eye to Läsrörelsen, an organization that works for children’s and young readers. He would also donate €50,000 to a foundation for the training of investigative journalists in Sweden known as Grävfonden.
The story of that book continues after the events of the previous books. lisbeth is the hacker and blomkvist is a journalist.
