Frank E. Peretti is a Christian fiction author who has been described as a natural storyteller best known for his inspirational and children’s novels. Peretti grew up in Seattle, where as a young man he would tell animated stories to neighborhood children. Now known as one of America’s most popular Christian novelists, he is a publishing phenomenon with more than 12 million of his works in print. once he graduated from high school, he decided he wanted to become a musician and joined a local bluegrass band where he played the banjo. after marrying in 1972, he stopped touring and instead started a small Christian music ministry. During this time, he studied screenwriting, English, and film at the University of California and Los Angeles before becoming a minister at an Assembly of God Church. in 1983 he decided to leave his position as minister and started working in construction since he had a family to feed. He later got a job at a ski factory and began writing This Present Darkness, his first novel that would become the breakthrough he needed as an aspiring author. he got off to a slow start in his career as he received a lot of rejections and once he finally published, sales were lackluster at best. It was only when Amy Grant, the Christian singer, began promoting it to her audience that the novel finally took off. He followed it up with “Piercing the Dark” in 1989 and has never looked back since.

With millions of his novels sold, Frank E. Peretti has been compared to and even declared a worthy successor to C.S Lewis. Peretti’s “This Present Darkness” series has sold millions but, except for his notoriety in the Christian community, he is virtually unknown in mainstream literary circles. The reader will also fall in love with how the author, Peretti, has demonstrated the power of prayer. the current darkness is not only scary, but also exciting, terrifying and brilliant.

piercing the dark is a classic novel by frank e peretti. In this novel, author Frank E. peretti creates a situation in which all the angels from the novels engage in a battle with the demons of hell, with the goal of helping a small group of people within a town overcome their biggest legal and personal battles. peretti is a creative master when it comes to creating narratives. the book begins as it poses the question, what if spiritual warfare resembled real life warfare? Just like the first installment, Through the Darkness follows the main characters and celestial warriors introduced in the first installment as they battle demons, who were more than determined to come after Sally’s life. There was a failed assassination attempt on Sally’s life. the group also fights for the spiritual, emotional, and personal well-being of a Christian school principal, who suddenly finds himself fighting the Christian school. while this is happening, they try to get the director’s children back from the cps, who had decided to take the children from him for no reason. With that said, Pierce the Dark is an excellent read that was also packed with action and suspense.

This book is highly recommended for any Christian reader. Peretti has done an excellent job of giving readers a preview of the spiritual warfare that was taking place, as well as its importance. the story was not only easy to follow, but also quite gripping.

Through various invitations, the heroes of Haunted find themselves on a plane headed for Seattle. these characters believe they have separate reasons. however, they do not. the professor has the opportunity to meet one of his old friends, aj van epps, who informs him of a strange house. recently, two residents had passed away and deep down he knows that these deaths have something to do with the house reappearing. aj van epps manages to convince the professor to help him with the investigations. the resourceful professor decides to help him and heads straight to the location of the strange house.

Once he arrives, he runs into the tattoo artist, Brenda, who was talking to a psychic. the professor and brenda decide to go for her reading. the psychic is known as earthsong and tells them that they are going to release a child who was imprisoned. several days go by and nothing strange happens. however, one day, the professor begins to notice that a specter was following him. the professor decides to stop, and the specter walks past him and into a house that wasn’t there initially. The house is a two-story Victorian home that is richly detailed and covered with portico and dream front windows. the professor asks two other people to help him, including van epps, who agrees to stay outside the house with a camera. the professor and three others enter the house. once inside the house, the four individuals realize that there were no lights in the house. whatever happens next will keep readers totally entertained.
