unnamed book club: prison chapters
the nameless book club is for the liberation of all oppressed people. We understand that the prison industrial complex is a system that works tirelessly to make members of our community disappear. it is very important for us to counteract the violence of the carceral state by keeping in touch with the people inside. each month we send 2 books to the members of our prison chapters. our book club selections are generally radical with themes related to liberation, decolonization and revolution. books of this nature are considered a threat to prison security and are unfortunately banned from most facilities. Due to this censorship, we have created a list of selected books that we know should have no problem getting into most prisons. it allows us to continue to materially support comrades on the inside, but it doesn’t allow them to be part of the larger conversations our outsiders are having about the list of books we’re reading. if you are interested in making connections with some of our incarcerated book club members about the books they are specifically reading. none of us is free until we are all free.
