with barnes & noble’s lending feature, you can share borrowed ebooks with anyone who has a barnes & noble account with a valid credit card number. After accepting the loan offer, your friends and family can read the book on any Nook or Barnes & noble nook app. Please note: Nook magazines and Nook newspapers cannot be lent or borrowed.

you can borrow books from your barnes & noble account at bn.com. your bn.com corner library collects all the ebooks you’ve purchased, and qualifying titles have a checkout icon on the cover image. Not all books can be borrowed, although many can.

You can send a loan offer to any email address, but to accept the offer, the recipient’s email address must be associated with a bn.com account that has a credit card number on file valid. the account holder’s credit card is not charged when he or she borrows a book from you.

Not all books can be borrowed. barnes & Noble works closely with publishers to learn which eBooks can be loaned through Barnes & noble’s lendme® function.

If your corner library on bn.com includes books that are eligible for loan, a green loan icon is displayed on the cover.

• Checkout icons are also present when you browse and search for books in the corner store on the bn.com website. When you navigate to the title’s product detail page, you’ll see a loan icon if the book is loanable.

• If you have borrowed a book, it appears in the list of books you have borrowed. this page will also tell you the number of days remaining on the loan.

• You can borrow a book through bn.com from anywhere with compatible wireless connectivity (including Wi-Fi hotspots outside of the United States, US Territories, and Canada).

• A loan title can only be loaned once. once a book has been successfully checked out, it is no longer eligible to be checked out. the single loan only counts if your friend accepts the loan offer. If the loan offer expires or your friend declines, you can still lend the book.

• When you offer a book loan, the offer lasts up to 7 days. the offer ends when your friend accepts or rejects the offer, or when 7 days have passed.

• Once you have offered to lend the book, you cannot go back on your offer.

• A loan is for 14 calendar days, counted from the day the loan offer is accepted. a borrowed book is automatically returned at the beginning of calendar day 15 (if the borrower has not returned it by that date).

• When you lend a book, you temporarily lend the digital rights to the book. this means that during the period that the loan offer is pending and while the book is on loan, you will not be able to read it. however, when the book is returned, your digital rights to the book are returned to you and you can read it again.

• The offer to loan a title and the acceptance of loan offers can only be made on bn.com, after logging into your account. After the borrower has accepted the loan offer, the borrowed title can be accessed on any reading nook device or app logged in with the same account credentials, during the 14-day loan period.

• you can’t lend a book you’ve been loaned.

• You cannot save a copy of a borrowed book to the microsd card.

• You may not archive a book that has been loaned to you.
