The Adventures of the Bailey School Boys is part of the best-selling children’s book chapter series. The novels in the series have been co-written by Debbie Dadey and Marcia Jones. The illustrator of the original book is John Steven Gurney. In the 2000s, several of the books were republished with cover illustrations by Nathan Hale.

In each of the published stories, the children of the bailey school meet some innocuous character such as a teacher, a custodian, etc. which may not be or may be a mythical being such as a ghost, a vampire or even a dragon. the books are narrated in such a way that the reader is left wondering if the harmless character is the mythical being or not.

howard- she is a close friend of liza, eddie and melody, he is intelligent and very logical. his father works for federal aeronautical technology (fats). He is in a group of friends with Melody, Liza and Eddie.

eddie is the tough guy of the group. In most cases, he taunts his friends in case they see a monster and tries to prove them wrong.

you will find several recurring characters such as;

mr. jenkins- camp counselor lone wolf, in most cases people think he is a werewolf. he is mean and tough, but sometimes has a soft side towards nature. he has two famous cousins, one who ran for president and one who is a hula dancer.

dr. Victor is a brilliant scientist who resides in the city of Bailey. people tend to think that he is related to dr. frankenstein leading them to believe that frank, his partner, is in fact a frankenstein’s monster. During his first appearance, he argues with Frank, leading to their separation, but they soon hit it off. Furthermore, people tend to believe that he was involved in the creation of the Bride Frankenstein.

carey- is the famous rich girl from bailey elementary school. Although she at first seems like a spoiled child, she cares more about the events around her than about her lady. jeepers being a vampire. however, she is not in love with anyone.

The first novel in the series is Vampires Don’t Wear Polka Dots, published in 1990. The second, Werewolves Don’t Go to Summer Camp, was published a year later, in 1991.

However, that’s up to the readers to answer. the beginning of the series is an interesting read, and if you are looking for a novel that answers every question, where every clue is vividly explained, then you had better pick up a copy of this book. the series is written primarily for children transitioning from picture books to chapter books.

Some of the questions vividly answered include; what signs indicate that mrs. jeepers is a vampire? Well, she keeps a coffin-shaped box in her basement, she’s allergic to garlic, and she wears a hypnotic brooch around her neck. however, what signs show that mrs. jeepers could be a normal human? well, vampires don’t walk in the sun.

The first book, Vampire Don’t Walk in the Sun, was written in just two weeks by Debbie, a librarian, and Marcia Jones, a teacher. the book is a fantastic read, and the other books in the series follow the same path with kids meeting someone new, believing they might be a supernatural and mythical being, and gathering evidence to prove it to themselves.

werewolves don’t go to summer camp

This is book number two in the series. The kids are on summer vacation at Lone Wolf Camp. they meet mr. Jenkins, their camp director who is hairy like a wolf and wears dog tags. he seems like a nice guy until the kids learn the legend of a boy who disappeared and the wolf that appears howling in the night. could mr. jenkins be a wolf? but if so, wolves don’t go to summer camps. As usual, the kids dive in to gather as much evidence as possible to prove whether mr. jenkins is truly a wolf.

Santa does not mop floors

The third novel revolves around a school janitor who looks like a Santa Claus. the book also focuses on the theme of believing & amp; not believe in christmas and santa.

The new school janitor is one of a kind. the children soon suspect that it might be one of the usual mythical beings they have encountered before. Mr. The cheerfulness, the white-bearded hair and the longing for cold temperatures remind them of the great St. nick. could this strange man be santa claus? As usual, the kids at the bailey school begin to gather evidence, as to whether mr. jolly could be a santa clause, but if so, santa doesn’t clean floors.

This series is a fantastic read for children. the characters are vividly drawn. however, what you will love most are the investigative traits that the children possess, as illustrated in each novel.
