jack campbell is the pseudonym used by one of the best known american authors named john g. hemry, for writing his novels based on the military science fiction genre. Although he writes most of his novels under his original name, there are many successful novels that he has written under his pseudonym. As an author Campbell is a retired US Navy officer, he has a vast experience that he often shares in his novels in the form of fictional stories. The most popular series of novels written by him under the pseudonym are the Lost Fleet series and its spin-off series titled Lost Stars. Author Campbell was born in April 1956. He first began his naval service aboard an American warship and then retired to become a full-time writer. It was in the year 2000 when he was able to publish the first novel of his career as a writer. Then, starting in 2006, author Campbell began writing the Lost Fleet series, as well as its spin-off series.
Currently, he is working on developing the plots for the latest novels in the Lost Stars series. this series consists of a total of 4 books published between the years 2012 and 2016. the author campbell has said in an interview before the publication of the first novel of this series that it will be part of the original lost fleet universe and also introduces the main characters who were in the original series. in the initial novels of this series, the Lost Stars, formerly known as the Phoenix Stars, are shown to be working to collapse the Syndicate worlds. this is specifically accomplished through the dedicated efforts of the commanders-in-chief of the intermediate system and the ground force. they are also obliged to bear the consequences of the collapse. The first novel in the Lost Stars series written by author Jack Campbell was published under the title ‘Tarnished Knight’. It was published by the hardcover publisher Ace in the year 2012. The plot of this novel revolves around the events in the life of the main characters named Artur Drakon and Gwen Iceni. in the opening sequence of the novel’s plot, the government’s authority in the world of the unions is shown to be crumbling. a disorder seems to have spread in the star systems due to the rebellion and civil wars, and the syndicate government is trying to suppress all the disorder with brutal attempts. one of the stars in the union world is called the midway, where leaders seem to be in two minds in the decision between remaining loyal to the old government or fighting for a new one. Soon, it appears that Midway’s CEO named Artur Drakon has faced betrayal from the Syndicate government, as he failed to protect his citizens from alien invasions and allied forces.
After that, artur decides to launch an attack against the syndicate government with the help of his command over the loyal soldiers, to take control of the midstar system. In his attempts, Artur is assisted by an ally he doesn’t seem to trust. on the other hand, the executive director of the ground forces named gwen iceni is sent to the middle star because her superiors thought that she was not entirely ruthless. As a result, she makes them regret her decision by attacking the Syndicate’s government ships and seizing the Midstar warships. After some time in the fight, Gwen Iceni declares the Midway Star an independent planet on behalf of her people and remains in charge as her “President”. her but overall, she has no choice but to rely on artur drakon’s forces to ensure the midstar’s safety. now, iceni and drakon need to put their differences aside if they are to succeed. It was very important for both of them to come together as a team if they were to succeed in keeping the population of the middle star from rebelling against them, defending their planet against the threat of the alien enigma race, as well as defeating the saboteurs who tried to establish rule. of the union once again.

The plot of this novel continues to revolve around the events in the lives of the main characters named Artur Drakon and Gwen Iceni. in the opening sequence of the novel’s plot, it is shown that the rebel leaders of the midstar had managed to defeat the union forces. but they fought to form a government that would secure the power of the planet and please its citizens. As the previous rulers had become enemies and there was still a threat to the human race from the alien race, there was a chance that the old adversaries from the middle star would become their allies.
Despite not trusting the syndicate’s followers, General Drakon decided to team up with a former government CEO and overthrew them. Now, he faces another threat from an enigmatic fleet, and in this difficult time, he cannot afford to lose Gwen Iceni’s support. she is of the opinion that the defense of humanity is in the middle star. she therefore makes use of the syndicate’s self-prevention training and prepares to fight to protect the fate of the star in between. Iceni doesn’t even mind joining the Drakon General as well as an officer from the hated Alliance forces. together, they plan to take a greater risk and recruit personnel to man the warships against the enigmatic forces of the aliens. However, before doing so, Iceni and Drakon must fight against the hidden dangers that were very close to their planet. they knew very well that human threats could endanger the freedom of the midway star, as well as the lives of both.
