mitford is an idyllic home, with its green hills, clean air and friendly people. However, when Father Tim asks for more, he gets much more than he bargained for; first the dog, then an attractive neighbor, an unloved boy, and a decades-old secret that revolves around the mysterious theft of a jewel. Mitford’s first novel is quite warm in its approach to the sunny little town, featuring a cast of characters who are simply too nice to hate, no matter what their role, and a charming story to sink into.
