early years and personal life
born in 1922 on december 30, the author will be jane langton was born and raised in massachusetts in boston, america. Growing up with a keen interest in both English and art, Langton always had a creative streak, something she nurtured throughout her childhood. Drawing inspiration from a very young age, she took a keen interest in a number of different activities, all of which she would put back into her work.
Educated at the University of Michigan in conjunction with Wellesley College, she received a bachelor’s degree in astronomy in 1944. She later attended Radcliffe College and earned a master’s degree. in 1948, as well as an m.a. in art history in 1945 from the university of michigan once again. After this, she studied at the Boston Museum School from 1958 to 1959, all of which helped to form the basis of her ideas for much of the career that she would follow.
Shortly after leaving education and academia, she published her first novel, which was released in 1961. This quickly set her on the path to becoming a full-time writer and she quickly gained a worldwide audience, and her novels had success in a relatively short period of time. By putting her many experiences back into her work, she was able to make her own books, building an extensive library of work in the process.
currently living in lincoln in massachusetts she still writes to this day, a place that is close to the city of concord. this is where she is known to set many of her novels, as she provides the inspiration for much of her work. With the death of her husband in 1997, she has three adult children; david, chris and andy, and she still has many more novels to come.

Originally published in 1980 through the ‘harper and row’ imprint, it was established as the fourth title in the ongoing ‘hall family chronicles’ series of novels. continuing in the same vein as before, it manages to build on what came in the previous novels in the series. it also manages to produce some interesting twists and turns along the way, keeping the reader engaged throughout.
Convinced that she can fly, young Georgie one day realizes that she can jump higher and higher with simple jumps and jumps. Almost floating, she soon learns that maybe her dream might come true after all, as she discovers that it really is possible for her to fly. Then, when a Canada goose shows up at her window one day, she climbs on her back and flies away to learn how she can really fly. Will she become a true flyer and will she fully realize her dream? Will she be able to learn from the best? what will become of the chick?
natural enemy
First published in 1982 on February 8, this was to be the fourth title in the ongoing “Homer Kelly” series of novels. Continuing the previous title, it was initially released through the ‘Penguin Books’ imprint to great acclaim. Using much of the same style and tone as the previous one, it manages to flesh out not only the narrative, but also the overall arc of the characters.
