biggest enemy
the first book in the series david rivers is the greatest enemy. david was doing well at westpoint in but in his senior year he was discharged without honors. due to the discharge, he is broken and stressed. three men appear in his life and change his whole life to the absolutely negative side. David has served in Afghanistan and Iraq, but his career comes to an abrupt halt when he is discharged from the force in his final year at West Point. this event stresses him out and takes him to the ground. three mysterious men approach him and demand that he carry out a certain task. he doesn’t refuse, as they threaten to expose a dark secret involving a cold-blooded murder he carried out sometime in the past.
Rivers is supposed to carry out a similar assassination, and since he wants to bury the secret, he accepts the job without objection. this step throws his life into the dark underground of the special forces that are hired and the highest bidder sets the rules. he eventually learns that his boss is a ruthless and indifferent man whom david should consider his greatest enemy. the discovery of the betrayal that is with his employer drives him to create a strong enemy in his boss.

The author takes you into the life of an ex-military man who has suffered in the past and who is blackmailed into a group that is even worse than what they used to do while on duty. As David struggles with the past and the present, he struggles to find a purpose that ends in a world darker than the past that he is trying to forget.

The second in the david rivers series is the offer of revenge. After the betrayal of his boss and the loss of all his mercenary friends, David lives in exile. An offer of revenge against his former boss appears, and Rivers accepts it because he is already bitter and living far from comfort. but the cost of revenge is enormous. Will he pay the cost?
David has been betrayed by the same person who introduced him to the secretive paramilitary world, and is now a fugitive. someone offers him the opportunity to take revenge on the person who changed his life at this stage. however, to complete this, he must join a deadly organization that is responsible for slaughtering the only family he had. Rivers is so driven by revenge that he at first doesn’t see the true picture. Deep in Somali’s heart, he begins to unravel things related to what led to the deaths of his friends.

Deep inside him, the only thing that works is to approach his handler and make him pay for the mistake that led him to a life in exile. Approaching the enemy of him will not be an easy task as it will bring him to a point where he is almost facing death. The man he is after is not easy, and this implies that it will be a mission in which he will risk his life, but having decided, David is determined to achieve his goal.
the author has set an easy to read story with lots of action and multiple scenes from which you learn a lot as the story progresses. it’s a reflection of what most people who have served in the military go through, especially after a dishonorable discharge.
dark redemption
The third book in the David Rivers series is Dark Redemption. During his time in Somali, David realizes this and manages to kill the man responsible for the death of his teammates. Returning from the mission, David’s mom is catching the person who pulled the evil strings from afar, and this time, the target is very close.
Accomplishing this new mission put him on a different assignment than he’s used to, and instead he’s supposed to protect the client. the plan is to kill the controller after he finishes the mission. while he defends his assigned clients in the slums of rio de jerio, he discovers that much is hidden from him and the betrayal of his friends was just a tip of the ice pack for what he had planned. David is a goal-driven person, and once he sets his sights on a certain goal, nothing will stop him from achieving it. through horrendous odds he advances to see the completion of the mission he has set.
The author presents the problems veterans face in their lives and the effects created by the horrible circumstances they face. Jason also shows the effect of revenge on an individual and the community as seen in the main character’s life. he also explores the consequences of the decisions one makes on a daily basis and the cost of getting things back on track with some of the conditions created being irreparable.
jason presents another piece with a good dose of suspense and lots of action that make the book irresistible. the story is well written with an arrangement and interaction of events that keeps the reader’s attention until the end.
