however, his online endeavors almost always revolve around his love of history and the interesting tidbits about history he finds. Where other authors might bombard readers with posts and even photos of their pets and their families, not to mention a curious post or two about her eating habits, Joanna Shupe is more interested in revealing weird fashion photos from centuries past. /p>
none of this is surprising because joanna is a huge fan of the story. the author can trace that love of hers back to her first school rock cartoon. Something inside her awoke from her, and before long she wanted to know everything there was to know about the history of the United States.
the university answered that particular sentence. However, Joanna admits that her classes were not always as informative as she would have liked. Her teachers were very interested in the great events of the time, presidents with strange names and the entire industry.
joanna cared more about the people of that time, not to mention the local culture. it was those stories that really sparked his imagination. Fortunately for Joanna, every time her classes became less appealing, she had her novels to go back to.
joanna’s college years were characterized more by the many romance novels she read than anything else. And whenever she came across a really good story, Joanna Shupe was driven to produce her own amazingly racy novels; however, joanna’s focus was on historical fiction rather than conventional romance.
The author knew she loved the story. neither could she deny her love for the romance genre. it only made sense for her to combine the two to create something unexpected.

joanna was initially drawn to the regency era above all else. the costumes and the seemingly exotic culture excited him. the entire era felt like it was built to complement stories of a romantic nature.
however, joanna shupe, after some extensive reading, discovered that the golden age had even more brilliance. And it wasn’t long before she changed tack and started setting her stories in that particular period of American history.
Not many authors can claim their love of history and romance has paid off, not like Joanna Shupe, whose first book was named the Best New Historical Novel of 2015 by RT Book Review.
the author has books that have topped the top ten lists of featured publications like publishers weekly and washington post, which don’t fit easily. However, those accolades pale in comparison to America’s Romance Writers’ Golden Heart Award, which Joanna Shupe won in 2013.
The author’s books, while popular, often attract a lot of criticism. Joanna tries to create strong heroines for his stories, but tends to take them apart and reduce them to simpletons whenever they come across extraordinarily attractive alpha males.
the heroes of joanna’s books do terrible things. Not only do the heroines get roughed up, but Joanna tends to justify her mannerisms and actions with flimsy excuses. Some readers have been known to question the logic of Joanna’s heroes and heroines coming together because they often have only the most tenuous connections, mentally and emotionally, with each other.
Joanna’s fans will applaud her for her writing style, which is so inventive that it seems to overcome her shortcomings in creating and developing her characters. In fact, even Joanna’s fiercest critics have grudgingly admitted that they enjoy her books because of her writing style.

the duchess of colton went to venice with a very clear plan in mind. she would seduce her estranged husband, she would become pregnant by him and secure her future by giving him an heir. To do this, Julia would have to ingratiate herself with London’s leading courtesan.
julia thought her ruse was necessary because she hadn’t seen her husband in the eight years since they were married. At that time, Julia was only sixteen years old. Although Julia walks in with a clear plan of action, she is surprised at the passion that begins to blossom between her and her husband.
this book tends to annoy many of joanna shupe’s readers. the book finds the heroine running after a husband who abandoned her shortly after her wedding. while she stayed home, she kept her virginity and was still a good girl, her husband slept with all the women he found mildly attractive.
When husband and wife finally meet, this after Julia tricks her husband into thinking she is just another courtesan, he is not enraged by the ruse, but denies her baby, accusing her of sleeping with other men.
joanna does very little to build julia as a strong character. Not only is the hero a terrible person who expected his wife to stay home and do the right thing while he was running around, but Joanna’s excuse for his actions is ridiculously flimsy.
julia, on the other hand, is too quick to forgive her husband for his actions. in fact, she quickly falls in love with him after they have sex, a turn of events that has been known to anger some readers.

Maggie is setting her world on fire as a political cartoonist with a grudge to settle. the fact that everyone thinks she’s a man probably helped her get the attention she now attracts. Her penchant for insulting Simon Barrett, Earl of Winchester at all times also helps.
No one knows about Simon’s role as Maggie’s former love interest who betrayed her. Or rather, Maggie always believed that Simon betrayed her. When she learns that the events of the past might not have happened as she expected, Maggie’s heart begins to fight with new desires.
This book is about raising its heroine, Maggie, as a strong and independent character. But she undermines those efforts by causing Maggie to melt the moment she reunites with Simon, betraying her previously manifest intelligence.
