Joseph Aloysius Wambaugh, Jr is an American bestselling author, famous for his fictional and non-fictional work on policing in the United States. He was born on January 22, 1937 in East Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. At the age of 17 in 1954, he joined the United States. Marines and served for three years. he married at the age of 18. joseph wambaugh earned an associate degree from chaffey college and also attended california state university, los angeles, where he received bachelor’s and master’s of arts. He joined the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) in 1960. He served as a police officer for 14 years, rising from the rank of patrolman to the rank of detective sergeant. He was still a police officer when two of his novels, The New Centurions and The Blue Knight, were published. He is famous for his work in The Field of Onions, 1979, Echoes in the Dark, 1987, and The Black Marble in 1980. Several of his early novels are set in and around Los Angeles, California and feature police officers. In the 2000s, Joseph Wambaugh began teaching screenwriting courses in the theater department at the University of California, San Diego, as a visiting professor.

Joseph Wambaughs was involved in the creation and development of the NBC television series crime story from 1973 to 1978 and it was revived on ABC in 1988 to 1989. He was also involved in the production of the film versions of Onion Field in 1979 and The Black Marble in 1980. The Choirboys was also made into a movie. in 1993 Fugitive Nights was made into a movie with the same title.

The Hollywood Station is the first novel in the Hollywood series by Joseph Wambaugh. The second novel in the series is The Ravens of Hollywood. Nathan Weiss, nicknamed Hollywood’s Nate for his acting ambition, and Bix Ramstead are assigned to the LAPD’s Office of Community Relations. this office handles quality of life issues and its members are known as crows. The Hollywood Crows is short for Community Relations Officers. Crows deal with public nuisances, parking problems, and repeated calls that are upset or lonely. the idea is to free up other cops for real police work. in hollywood ravens wambaugh continues to prove that the los angeles police officer is dedicated but frustrated by rules and regulations. this oversight prevents the police from really solving the city’s crime problems, as they are forced to handle too much paperwork and too many restrictions on action. Nathan Weiss and Bix Ramstead find themselves dealing with a lady named Margot Aziz. she being in hollywood she is beautiful and she is not what she seems. Morgot Aziz is in the middle of a bitter divorce and is trying to take advantage of her husband. the husband runs a seedy nightclub, but stays on the right side of law enforcement by giving timely donations to police charities. Both Nathan and Bix get mixed up in Margot’s affairs. Margot Aziz was previously known as Margaret Osborne. She was an ambitious exotic dancer who tried to gain upward mobility through marriage to nightclub owner Ali Aziz. margot aziz wants to play for all the money she can get. she is plotting to kill her husband to get her wealth. Margot Aziz plans to use Nathan Weiss and Bix Ramstead to achieve her goals.
