katherine k.a. Applegate is an American author of fiction. Born in Michigan on October 9, 1956, her full name is Katherine Alice Applegate. she goes through k.a. applegate or hers other pseudonyms of hers, e.g. Blair for the Girl Talk series, Katherine Kendall for her Harlequin romance novels, Pat Pollari, A.R. plumb bob, beth kincaid and nicholas stevens.
katherine applegate has lived in a variety of places from illinois to minnesota, california, florida, texas and italy, as well as north carolina. She lived abroad in Pelago, Italy and after a year moved back to Southern California.

k.a. Applegate is married to Michael Grant. A fellow writer of hers, he has collaborated with her on many series, including her popular series Animorphs of Her.
applegate has since been back up and running. Since then, he has composed an illustrated book called The Buffalo Storm, as well as Home of the Brave, a novel for intermediate readers that earned him multiple awards. She is also the author of the Roscoe Riley Rules chapter series.
k.a. Applegate has written many fictional series, including the Kissing series, which has an incredible number of books. She is also the author of the Making Waves series, the Summer series, and the popular Animorphs series. the series came out in 1996 with the release of Invasion. the series is about a fictional world in space where animorphs live and fight for supremacy. the series has done very well and there are now fifty novels in the series with perhaps many more to come!

the animorphs series is intended for kids and teens and became a TV show that did quite well and launched its own line of action figures where kids can make the animorphs “transform” into their animal forms. there have been several spin-offs on television and in print.
She is also the author of the ocean city series. The first book in this series is titled Ocean City and came out in 1993. The book was quickly followed by Love Shack and then Firewalks, Boardwalk, Heat Wave, Bonfire, Sweeped Away and more. the series focuses on a series of young women looking for love. With crisp ocean air and romantic summer nights, will they find what they’re looking for or leave disappointed?
Making Waves is the first novel in the Making Waves series by accomplished author k.a. Applegate focuses on the main character Kate Quinn, who is a teenager who recently graduated from high school. she had the best summer of her life planned that would allow her to finally seize what she wants to do and go after it.
kate has an internship and plans to go to the safe seas marine conservancy this summer. Not only will she get a crash course that will prepare her to land her dream job later on, but she will also enjoy the best in beachside accommodation. it’s nice to wake up and soak up the morning sun to the sound of the waves and the cool ocean breeze.
kate thought this summer and internship would be the perfect way to not only prepare for the future but also put the past behind her. Kate didn’t anticipate that she would be joined by her best friend at the last minute. chelsea is almost bankrupting her friends for a quiet summer. she really loves chelsea, but her friend can be very noisy.
but as she adjusts to the sudden change in plans, kate finds she has another hurdle to overcome. she thought she was going to have a summer of renovation, but it’s turning into a summer of stress as she loses the bedroom she thought she was going to enjoy luxury in. beachside lodgings disappear in an instant.

now she and her friend are forced to invest their life savings in renting an apartment. worse still, it has five rooms. they’re going to have to find at least three more people to be her roommates and fill the rooms. that’s going to be her own challenge. In addition to filling the rooms in the apartment, Kate and Chelsea also have to deal with the fact that there is someone living next door that they know from the past.
turns out justin garrett is the guy who lives in the boathouse next door. he was the lifeguard kate met last summer. Since then, Kate has been doing everything she can to try to forget about Justin. but it turns out that the task may be more challenging than she expected.
kate decides she’s just going to try to avoid it and keep her head down and find new roommates. But will the handsome lifeguard be more attractive than she is ready for? you’re gonna have to learn to make waves for k.a. applegate to find out!
tease is the second book in the making waves series. kate is back and has recovered from the crazy summer that she and her best friend chelsea of her lived together. she has had to face ghosts from her past, but she is very happy when she gets the chance to stay in a beach house. it seems that accommodations by the sea are finally coming.
Kate’s father doesn’t exactly approve of the idea and even calls the house a love shack. That’s not exactly true, but it’s not that far from the truth either. there’s a lot of hookup and romance going on. couples are happening everywhere you look.
