about patricia cornwell
patricia cornwell was born in 1956 in miami and grew up in montreat, north carolina.
During her childhood, Patricia suffered extensive emotional abuse. In an interview in which she was asked why she focuses on psychopaths in her books, the author herself mentioned that it is because she “grew up in terrible fear.” After her father left the family one Christmas day when Patricia was only 5 years old, she too was sexually abused by a convicted pedophile.
Luckily, nothing really bad happened, but it was enough to shake her to the core. When her brother showed up on her bike, the guy was trying to get Patricia to her car, which probably would have ended with her death.
so, in 1961, her mother took her and her two brothers and moved to montreal, north carolina, fearing for the well-being of her children. During school, Patricia was a pretty bright student, she was a good athlete, and a pretty talented cartoonist.
He attended Davidson University, where he earned his English degree in 1979. He got his first job that same year, working for the Charlotte Observer, where he did various jobs, from listing TV shows to covering the police beat.

some of the articles he wrote on prostitution and crime in the downtown charlotte area brought him a lot of attention, praise and respect, and it was then that he received his first award, the investigative report from the association North Carolina Press Office. award.
In 1981, she began work on the biography of Ruth Bell Graham, wife of famed evangelist Billy Graham, who took Patricia in when her mother fell ill.

Virginia Ghost Murders author Leslie Sachs has accused Patricia of plagiarism over her latest novel from her precinct, saying the two books have too many similarities to be a mere coincidence. During the trial, Patricia was awarded $37,780 in damages that she had to pay to defend herself against the other perpetrator’s attacks. Sachs was also given a permanent ban from defaming Patricia Cornwell in any future way.

Having read the books, I suggest reading them in publication order; by the way, in the case of all three series, the correct chronological order is also the order in which the books were published.
Not only will you see Kay Scarpetta develop her personality throughout the books, but you’ll also learn about her relationship with her niece, Lucy Farinelli, which is worth learning about for its intensity. generally, she can read them in any order she chooses, since the action evolved one story per book, but the characters develop, mature, and progress from novel to novel. not worth missing.
as a side note, what i’m really looking forward to (apart from kay scarpetta’s latest book, of course) is the new movie that angelina jolie will play. We still don’t know when the movie will air (it was initially rumored to air in 2015, but that deadline is long gone).
