Linda Castillo is the New York Times best-selling American author. Most of her thrillers are set in Ohio, since she was born there. she’s cute she knew from an early age that she wanted to be a writer. she wrote her first novel at age thirteen. To date, she has written a total of twenty-seven novels and has several awards to her name. She has won the Holt Medallion, the Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence, and the Heart of Gold Award. she was also nominated for the prestigious rita. most of her novels are of the thriller genre. She has written a thriller series known as the Kate Burkholder Series in which Kate Burkholder is the main character. the first novel in the series was “sworn to silence.” she has also written several romance and suspense novels. the new york times bestseller list always has linda’s books about her amish thrillers. She lives in Texas with her husband, two Appaloosa horses, a barn cat, and three dogs. Linda enjoys horseback riding in her spare time. her favorite guys are the ones who dabble in barrel racing and trail riding. Linda is currently working on her next novel based on Police Chief Kate Burkholder.
There are a total of six novels in the kate burkholser series published between 2009 and 2014. . Sworn to Keep Silence and Pray for Silence were the first two novels in the series. the other books in the series are Pray for Silence (2010), Break the Silence (2011), Disappeared (2012), His Last Breath (2013), and the Dead Will Say (2014). The summary of the plot of this novel is explained below. “English” and Amish residents have lived side by side for more than two centuries in a quiet rural town of Painters Mill, Ohio. the peace of the farming community was shattered sixteen years ago by a series of brutal murders. after the violence ended, the city lost its innocence and the town was left with a sense of fragility. a young Amish woman survived this terror and murder of innocent people. her name was kate burkholder and she realized that she was no longer amish and she came out of the brutality. Kate hadn’t thought of mysterious things because she was half a dozen years ago when her mother would probably check the storage room and look under her bed at night. Now, after much experience in the field, Kate Burkholder is Chief of Police and has been asked to return to the Painter’s Factory. She is the perfect candidate for the position of chief of police at the paint factory, as she has a lot of experience in law enforcement and was a resident there. until she finds the first corpse in the snowy field, she is sure that she has accepted her past. she promises not to let the killer strike again and to stop him before her next attack. she has betrayed her amish past as well as her family to show it. she has to expose a dark secret to do this, but it may destroy her.
Surrounded by the night, she followed the particularly difficult drum connected to her heart. she couldn’t help but end up flinching and couldn’t stop her teeth from eating away. every second seemed to build on her system, clenched within the terrifying anticipations of the monster’s return. at first, she had playful fantasies of evading or persuading her captor to let him out of her. but she ended up being a new realist; she believed that she was not planning to end it effectively. there could well be absolutely no negotiation. zero savings on law enforcement and zero last minute release. her colossus was going to get rid of her. it was definitely no longer a new dilemma related to the case.

While Kate’s outrage grows as she works to solve the case to uncover him and bring him to justice, even if it means placing herself in the distinctive line of fire. this novel also became a hit with the readers and got good reviews from everyone. It all added to her name and fame and encouraged her to produce some other masterpieces for years to come.
film adaptation:-
The first Linda Castillo novel in Kate Burkholder’s series, Jury of Silence, was recently adapted into a two-hour movie. the name of the film was “an amish murder”. The role of Kate Burkholder was played by Neve Campbell and the role of Jacob Burkholder was played by Christian Campbell. the film’s other casts include c. Thomas Howell who played the role of Nathan Detrick and the role of John Tomasetti was played by Noam Jenkins. Neve Campbell, Poppy Montgomery and Barbara Lieberman served as executive producers on the film. The screenplay was written by Mark Malone and the film was directed by Stephen Gyllenhaal.
