Residents include an herbalist, a horror writer, and Newtons, a happily married couple like themselves. jamie & Kirsty are welcomed by the Newtons in their new neighborhood. initially, everything seems fine. but then, strange things start to happen. they find dead rats outside their door. during the nights, the new couple hears disturbing noises. Soon, Jamie learns that her best friend has been seriously injured in a terrible accident. After this, Kirsty & Jamie feels they are the target of a campaign of terror. And when things start to spiral out of control, Jamie decides to fight back. however, she doesn’t have the slightest idea what she is up against. overall, the book appears to be a terrifying thriller. Author Mark has mentioned that such a nightmare could happen in anyone’s life. therefore, one must remain alert and careful of one’s neighbors and their activities.

At the beginning of the book’s story, Alex Parkinson is shown signing up for a creative writing class with a tutor named Siobhan McGowan. After spending time with her beautiful tutor, Alex begins to think that they are destined to live together for the rest of their lives. Just to be with Siobhan, Alex will go to great lengths and take any step without thinking of the outcome. he indulges in shopping for lingerie and designer clothes for her and pays with her credit card. He even breaks into Siobhan’s house and reads her diary. Alex also threatens Siobhan’s ex-boyfriend and watches him plummet from a roof top. But when he feels like nothing is going his way, Alex decides to drop everything and seek solace elsewhere. When Siobhan finds out about this, she thinks about getting back at her because she believes he can’t just stalk her and then back down depending on her mood. siobhan doesn’t want alex to lose interest in her. Later, Siobhan McGowan and Alex Parkinson’s paths collide as their lives fall apart. they seem to be about to destroy themselves and those around them.
