mary higgins clark was born mary theresa eleanor higgins in 1927 in the bronx, new york and on christmas eve 2017 she celebrates her 90th birthday!

after graduating from saint francis xavier elementary school, mary received a scholarship to villa_maria_academy so she could continue her studies.

After her father’s death, her mother was unable to find a job, so they had to rent Mary’s room to renters, forcing Mary to move out of the house so the family could survive.

In late 1949, she married Warren Clark and quit her job. Now that she had free time, she enrolled in various writing courses at Nyu.

When her husband became ill and died of a heart attack in 1959, Mary had to go back to work. she initially worked as a radio scriptwriter, while writing her first book, aspire to the skies .
