In Fallout New Vegas, Skill Books are rare consumable items that can be found scattered throughout various locations throughout the Mojave Wasteland. using them increases the relevant skill by three points and gives players the option to upgrade skills they might not otherwise focus on when leveling up.

These are not the same as Skill Magazines, which only improve your skills for a short time. The bonuses imparted by fallout new vegas skill books are permanent.
