peter pan is the fruit of the vivid imagination of the english writer james m. barrie, who makes the decision never to describe it in detail and thus leaves all the work of the imagination to his readers. the reader only knows that he is a beautiful boy with a beautiful smile. he decided to leave his house after hearing his parents talk about what he was supposed to do once he grew up. he decides not to take responsibility and not face a life that he is already sure he will not like. he arrives in neverland, a fantasy world where no one grows up and everyone can enjoy their childhood forever. Before returning to his country, he never decides to enter the house of his beloved, sure of finding a new disciple there. Instead, he meets Wendy and her siblings, with whom he begins a series of incredible adventures.

peter has a carefree attitude, he likes danger and adventures. He can be quite arrogant and selfish at times, but being just a kid, he doesn’t understand the repercussions his actions can have on other people’s lives.
Peter Pan’s favorite pastime is to annoy his sworn enemy, Captain Hook, to provoke him into endless, near-deadly fights.

peter knows how to fly because he is a boy and “every baby is part bird”. He teaches Wendy and his siblings how to fly using a combination of “wonderful and lovely thoughts” and pixie dust.
Although both Wendy and Tinker Bell fall in love with Peter Pan, he does not see or understand their feelings. In fact, Pedro considers women only in the role of mothers and looks for a surrogate mother in each girl.

the character of peter pan is the synthesis of two figures.
The first is Pan, son of the god Hermes and the nymph Penelope, who refused to raise her son because of his fearsome appearance. Pan, in fact, was born with the legs of a lamb, horns, and a long beard. Abandoned by his family, Pan grew up in Arcadia, in the middle of nature, exactly like Peter.
The second figure to serve as a model for Peter Pan is Barrie’s younger brother, David, who died when he was just 14 years old in an accident at an ice skating rink. Barrie wanted to honor the memory of his younger brother, who in fact never had the chance to grow up.

james m. Barrie introduced the character of Peter Pan for the first time in 1902 in the novel The Little Bird. The novel is set in both London and fantasy locations and is a series of short episodes chronicling the lives and adventures of Londoners. The Pedro presented here differs from the better-known character mainly because he is only a week old. The middle chapters evolve around the fantastic set of Kensington Gardens and later became a separate book titled Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens. The best-known child-centered play is the play Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up. Written in 1904, it tells the story of how Peter met Wendy and his siblings and how they flew to Neverland together. Here, kids meet a host of characters, including Peter’s nemesis, Captain Hook. The play was later novelized by Barrie in 1911, under the title Peter Pan and Wendy.
Peter is also the protagonist of the authorized sequel novel Peter Pan in Scarlet by Geraldine McCaughrean. Released internationally on October 5, 2006, it continues the story of the Lost Boys, the family of Wendy and Peter Pan in 1926, during the reign of George V and after the First World War. The novel focuses on the idea that the bombings of the first world war have created holes in the real world towards neverland and thus the two worlds collide, with dreams and ideas belonging to the two realities filtering through. Wendy persuades the former Lost Boys, now living in the real world, to return to Neverland to help Peter Pan return both worlds to normal.

In 2002, the disney company made another movie centered on peter pan and titled return to neverland. The film is set during World War II, when Wendy’s daughter, Jane, is kidnapped by Captain Hook and taken to Neverland. she here she meets peter: together they overcome many adventures and finally peter asks her if she wants to be the first “lost girl”. Wendy’s daughter, although fascinated by this land of mysteries and fairies, decides to return to the real world. peter brings her back home and meets wendy one last time.
