rachel hauck had always dreamed of becoming an author since childhood, but work always got in the way of her dreams. When she was a child, she had always loved to tell stories and she created over 4000 journal entries detailing her life and pouring out her heart. Growing up the oldest of five siblings, she acted out her stories with her siblings for years, paving the way for her later career as a writer. Her imagination and her thinking would continue when she went to study journalism at the University of Ohio, and later in her career. she chronicled her travels in her heart as she traveled through canada, ireland, mexico, venezuela, spain, australia and the united states, but she never wrote anything down. In early 1993, she felt that God was telling her to leave her corporate job with all her benefits and excellent pay and dedicate herself fully to a writing career. Taking time to read and study the Christian fiction market, she began her first book, an epic WWII story set in the Aleutian Islands. the book was never published, although parts of it became her later title “love begins with her”. For Rachel Hauck, it’s all a story from helping others as a mentor and coach, leading worship, decades in youth ministry, and her marriage, all of which form the tapestry of her works. she writes to try to get readers to change the way they see the events in their lives. She gets the inspiration and drive to write the novels from her by realizing that association with god is what results in dreams come true.

Rachel’s novels in the “Royal Wedding” series of novels deal with the pain of war, the pain of death, and choosing to love unconditionally even though that love is unrequited. these are more than real fairy tales for, though they have the usual real magic in them, they are tales of healing and hope. In general, however, most of Hauck’s other novels deal with God’s purpose, love, and destiny for his people. they move from the modern era of royal weddings to the post-war era of the 1940s where men and women raised a family, lived life and got back to basics. the novels discuss the complications of family life while affirming the healing and restorative power of love. the claim is that even amid the shattered dreams and tragedy of war, the human heart can find the zeal to carry on. Conversely, the novels also discuss the destructive power of misconceptions, lies, greed, and selfishness that are equally effective in bringing down dreams and families. however, the author asserts that families can overcome the traps of negativity by seeking prayer, listening, and loving one another. while he cites unreasonable expectations as the cause of many failed family relationships, he asserts that godly wisdom and prayer will ultimately conquer all and lead to a happy family life.
