On any good day, Maggy Thorsen will be making coffee. however, this time trouble surrounds her. With no time to even clean up, Maggy Thorsen has no choice but to investigate the murder of her co-owner at the diner. As it happens, Maggy has a habit of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. this time, she’s even holding the murder weapon, which means luck isn’t on her side. One of the main suspects in the murder, aside from Maggy, is a Laroach, who normally has a habit of alienating everyone he meets. As the book progresses, Maggy Thorson juggles the ins and outs of investigations, while at the same time trying to ensure she plays her role at the next Java convention.
Because laroche was a self-centered, power-driven man and also because he delivered a highly controversial speech during the opening ceremony, the list of suspects who might want to give laroche a beating is endless. The main reason Maggy is considered a suspect was mainly because she had a heated argument with him, prior to his death. therefore, maggy is given a reason to investigate the murders. Once he finds new leads, he decides not to share it with his love interest Jake Pavlick, who is the local sheriff. With that being said, In Motives for Murder is not only a quick read, but also a fun read that is full of humor and several light moments.

From Scratch is the fifth installment in the series of books by Maggy Thorsen. In this installment, Maggie moves out of her cafeteria. She then decides to strike a deal with Sarah Kingston, a real estate agent extraordinaire. Since the first novel, Sarah has remained Maggie’s nosy sidekick. however, the two have continued to form an unbreakable friendship; Will sarah’s forceful manner destroy her friendship or her unusual motives? Initially, Kornell Eisvoge, Sarah’s uncle-in-law, is killed when a train collides with her Buick. however, once the investigations began, the local police discovered that someone sabotaged his vehicle. Despite the fact that Kornell was an extremely unpleasant man, it stands to reason that someone wanted him dead. However, as time will tell, Uncles Kornell was just the first accident in a series of accidents at the proposed new site for unusual terrain.
The place is definitely going to get a bit swanky when shuttle service from milwaukee to brookhills resumes in a few months. could someone be planning to sabotage these women’s plan? Or could the threat be more personal than she thinks? however, Maggy is not convinced that this is a coincidence. With that being said, Maggy Thorsen is an excellent series of books that is cutting edge with an easy reading style and a laid back vibe as well. Maggy is undeniably a breath of fresh air in the mystery series especially, compared to most suspenseful mystery series.

A cup of coffee is another excellent addition to the Maggy Thorsen mystery series. the book begins with the second cafe being built since the first one was destroyed in a snow storm. Maggie has commissioned a huge inflatable coffee cup, which will be suspended during the opening ceremony. However, it is not long before the body of the event manager, a Jolynne Penn-Williams, is discovered during the celebrations. as the series progresses, the books continue to become more and more entertaining. maggie continues to face different challenges and difficulties, especially with her relationship with the local sheriff.
