lawhead is the author of many fantasy and science fiction novels, both for children and adults, and has written many book series. he has also written Celtic historical fiction. These series include the “King Raven” trilogy, the “Dragon King” trilogy, the “Song of Albion” series, the “Empyrion” saga, the “Bright Empires” series, “The Pendragon” cycle, and “Hero” with Ross. lawhead. he has also written some independent novels. His children’s books include “The Howard Books”, the “Riverbank” series, and the “Brown Ears” books. his work of children’s fiction was originally written for his two sons. all of his books have been translated into 21 different languages and continue to be printed.
was born in kearney, nebraska in 1950 and would attend kearney state university (graduating with his bachelor of art in 1973) where he wrote a humor column for the newspaper there and his stories and his poems found his way in different posts too. he was able to earn some money in college with his rock band called mother rush, of which he was the lead guitarist. He married Alice Slaikeu in 1972 after the couple had met the year before.

After that, he would take writing classes at wheaton college while enrolled in seminary. He would later write for Campus Life magazine in Chicago to start his writing career. During his stay here, he would write many articles and many non-fiction books. After his minor record company, of which he was president, closed, he began writing freelance full-time in 1981. To do proper research on all things Celtic, he moved to England with his his wife and two children. His wife, Alice, is also an author; the couple have collaborated on some pieces together.
“taliesin” is the first book in the “pendragon cycle” series, a historical fiction series that takes the legend of arthur and includes some historical aspects in the story. We see both the fall of atlantis and charis, a princess, as she travels with her family to britain. At the same time, Taliesin trains to be a bard druid. Charis and Taliesin meet, marry, and later have a son, who is Merlin (or in the case of this book, Myrddin).

Fans of the novel thought that this was the best novel built around the legend of arthur, because of the sad love story, the involvement of the parents of merlin and atlantis as part of the novel. some found this novel to be the finest example of a lawman’s writing; discovering that it combines the historical aspects of this tale, with the mythology, and just great storytelling that is in the book. some found it difficult to put the book down.
Some readers didn’t like how religious the novel is and found that it imposes itself on the reader a bit reluctantly. some found that the plot was going nowhere and that they couldn’t care so much about the characters. some found that the novel had too many details that were not as relevant. readers didn’t like that women had personalities but then they got married and lost everything.
“merlin” is the second book in the “pendragon cycle” series. This novel is narrated by Merlin (Myrddin). myrddin tells of his education, both with priests and druids, and his training among the people of the mountains. even his time as king. He also has an affair with a princess named Ganieda, and the many years of him running wild through the forest before finally meeting his fate.
Fans of the novel liked the way Merlin liked him even more after reading this book. They also thought that the change from the third person to the first person was appropriate for this book, and they found that this book was better due to the fact that it focused on Merlin, the favorite of many people. They also found that the first-person perspective showed Merlin’s personality and more of his mind that allows you to see through the man’s mind. some found that the novel made an impression on them when they finished reading it.

some readers didn’t like the way merlin becomes a christian missionary who preaches that christians are superior was disgusting. Merlin is supposed to be a link with the pagans. lawhead in this one doesn’t write a gripping, meaningful story, but instead goes for a more religious sentiment that makes the book feel more like a sermon and less like an account of a famous person’s journey.
“arthur” is the third novel in the “pendragon cycle”. arthur, was sung in songs by taliesin, was going to be king and bring peace, but many people don’t believe it because of the fact that he is a lowborn child. Merlin has taught him to rule. This novel is about Myrddin and Arthur’s attempt to create a heavenly place they call the Kingdom of Summer. Arthur is appointed Battle Chief of Britain and Duke after drawing the sword from the stone. this sword is called maximus. he must fight against the barbarians and saecsens who have invaded to be accepted by his people as supreme king.
Fans of the novel liked the new perspective provided in this retelling of arthur which also shows the other people who help arthur get to his rightful place as king. They also liked the way you can see the relationship between two old friends, morgian and merlin, below the surface, but above it is very different because of everything that has happened to shake things up.
some readers didn’t like the novel because it was boring and there were a lot of fights in the novel and not a lot of new things happened. some found that the battles drag on too long and could have been shortened so as not to take up too much space in the novel.
He received an honorary doctorate in humane letters in 2003 from the university of nebraska. In 2008, she won the Chrsty Visionary Fiction Award for “Scarlet,” a novel that retells the Robin Hood story and sets it in Wales.
