As the daughter of an artist, she would grow up surrounded by creativity, something that would inspire her a lot. this would develop over the years, as she would also pursue a career in science, before establishing herself as a novelist.

born may 28, 1977, she was born in japan, before growing up in oregon, america, followed by arizona. She studied at Macalester University based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, she would study anthropology there, while taking art classes. She currently lives with her husband Kevin Sonney, the two podcast together, while she continues to write regularly.

writing career

Starting out as an illustrator, Ursula Vernon would pursue a career in art, before combining this with her own writing. her in 2004 she would publish a collection of her sketches in a book titled ‘it made sense at the time’ which brought them together completely. she would then go on to write children’s novels, beginning with ‘digger’ in 2004, and then she would write her first novel under the name of t. kingfisher in 2013 titled “nine elves”.

Finding her own voice, she has explored a variety of different styles within and throughout her work as an author. drawing inspiration from the world around her, she would build on this, putting it all back into her fiction and writing. Her winning numerous awards throughout her literary career, including the highly coveted Hugo, along with Nebula, she still has much more to come.

This was originally published through vernon’s “red wombat studio” imprint, released in 2018 on February 27th. Marking the second title in the ‘Clocktaur War’ series of novels, this would continue from the first with another story set in the same world. working as a fantasy novel aimed largely at an adult demographic, it would bring the world to life once again in full color. the previous title was ‘mechanical boys’, and that would be coming out for the first time in 2017, as that would also have some impact on its release.

Fresh out of prison, a heartless and ruthless assassin, a convicted forger, and a disgraced paladin have been broken out of incarceration. brenner, slate, and caliban now receive weapons as they also have a target and then aim in the direction of the enemies. Heading to the town of Anuket, they search for the whereabouts of the Clockwork Boys, finding many secrets along the way. Will they be able to find what they are looking for? will they be able to locate the enemy? what will you find with the wonder engine?

paladin strength

Initially released in 2021, it would first come out on February 28 to great acclaim as it would mark the second title in the “the saint of steel” series. the first, ‘the paladin’s grace’, would come out the previous year in 2020, providing this other story set in the same world. there’s a lot in it for fans to invest in as it looks to further build on everything that came before and take it to the next level in this fantasy series.

This really follows through on the promise of the first novel, making the most of the world and its inhabitants. the characters really speak to the reader as it takes them to new and exciting places, pushing them over the edge. there’s plenty of action and adventure, with plenty of imagination and excitement fueling it in the process as well.
