Author Vicki Delany is a famous Canadian mystery novelist who was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in the year 1951. The bestselling author also uses the pseudonym Eva Gates from time to time in her literal works of fiction. delany began her career as a Sunday writer for several reasons. She is forced to work with Sergeant John Winters who is the boss in charge as he is new to the area and would need his knowledge of the area to solve Reginald’s murder. this is definitely a great book about how a young canadian officer becomes a good detective by making many unwise decisions and learning from her mistakes in a small town with serious ecological and political problems. It’s no secret that working with Agent Molly can be frustrating at first, but in the end, her sheer instincts help save the day.

‘among the deceased’

Among the deceased is a carefully crafted story of how opening a closed disappearance case ends up opening old hidden wounds while bringing to light dangerous secrets some people would rather kill to keep hidden. The story begins fifteen years ago when Agent Molly Smith went to her best friend Nicky Nowak’s house for the night. everything goes perfectly and she is picked up by her mother after having breakfast at her host’s house. shortly after her first daily meal, mr. nowak decides to go for a walk not knowing that it will be the last.

Agent Molly Smith, now huddled by the fire with Adam Tocek, is forced out of her comfort zone when Tocek calls a nearby campground with her dog in an attempt to join other lifeguards searching for a young child. that he had embarked on a dangerous adventure in the territory of the bears. she soon finds the boy who is quite shocked, terrified, dirty and crying but unharmed. During interrogation, Adam Tocek’s dog unearths human bones which are later identified as Mr. by nowak.

Sergeant John Winters decides to go through some old case files after opening the Brian Nowak murder investigation. She finds herself face to face with a shattered family as a result of the disappearance of her father and husband. the deceased wife is an empty shell of a woman, her son kyle is very worried and nicky nowak lives in vancouver afraid of human interactions. the deeper the murder investigation, the heavier the old secrets that come to light.
